    Hi all!

I went all in a while back and got a load of the Cosmica terrain. I'm looking at now getting it looking good and that will involve getting some colour into it.

I've never painted MDF terrain before and I am concerned about ruining it. I hear a lot of people talk about the water content of our paints and MDF being absorbent and so the best practice is to seal MDF with either watered down PVA or some other MDF specific primer.

I know Warsenal's blog post on painting recipes for this set is to use a 'matt enamel' paint. However, that doesn't really mean an awful lot to me. I'm looking at people that have some experience of MDF terrain painting - what would you recommend?

I picked up some warsenal stuff the other week so have done some similar research. I found that halfords sell grey enamel primer, its in the Effects section. So far I have only done a quick test with it but it definitely didnt soak into the wood in the same way normal primer does.

Good call. I used that (in white) and it did just the job.

I use rustoleum primer, paint with airbrush and seal with normal sealant.
