I missed that, thanks, at least there's that. Honestly, I gave Foreign Company a complete pass, took one look at all the blue on the list and ignored it :p
DBS 10 merc troops JSA 3 merc troops Ikari 12 merc troops Starco 10 merc troops Foreign 8 merc troops Dahshat 9 merc troops Spiral Corps 7 merc troops Dude I totally get that you're disappointed and you have a right to express your opinion. But you're maybe overstating things a smidge.
Did you include Bashis in your count? They've been available as Mercenaries as well as Haqq troops since OG Human Sphere.
Definitely interested, just because it let me field zuyongs with more variety in my lists and some tools I miss in IA to support them like a light grenade launcher, smoke, unhackable unit and throaway roadblocks. Doctor plus ghulam and competitive CC monsters are neat too. Also i kinda expect bounty hunters to be the wildcard troopers and link fillers of the sectorial which is super cool I think. It makes them much more likely to hit the table and eventually contribute to the victory. If sforza and miranda get FTO wildcard profiles too it would be really, really cool. ATM it's a pain in the ass to build lists so i'll wait for the army update before doing it seriously, but by the look of it you could field a list with a zuyong link (HMG/ML/Tinbot/FO) including a BH boarding shotgun, a brawler lieutenant, 2 hunzakuts, 2 libertos DEP, valerya gromoz, 3 fanous remotes and saito togan.
There definitely is something to say for that! With some careful painting/converting, you can give them Hachimaki headbands.
I know it was a bit of hope against hope, but the lack of the Guijia in Dashat (and the inclusion of the superior, linkable Maghariba, no less!) is basically the death knell of the poor thing. Our lovely piece of shelf-borne trash is likely not to see an update for a very long time, this was probably its last chance.
Yeah, kinda disappointed there's not more YJ in Dashat. TA-powered Zuyong core with cheap skirmisher support is exciting though, assuming they have the TA profiles.
I'm hoping that they don't have the TacAware profiles, actually. TA implies a practice of working together so much that they know what the other troops are going to do before they do it, and not even most units in the US military get there!
I'm curious why Zuyong suits are sold off to Dashat company, frankly. Its a military grade battlesuit(lol). Hmm..
Yu Jing isn't communist, the state probably wouldn't be above selling off its mass-produced armour for easy money. Especially given it is the *one* thing that we know they do notably better than other nations. I'm more curious about the Hulang, that's supposed to be quite advanced and is loaded with Shaolin teachings and very high-end weaponry.
Right dude. Right back at yah. This has got to be the dumbest misrepresentation ever. Think about what is being communicated to you instead of nitpicking parts of the post that's actually not the point. My post should clearly be about how partisan troops are being added together to form "mercenaries" instead of the factions being developed as their own entities. With partisan troops supplying the majority of the AVA in most of these, including the most important fireteams and recently they've managed to get hold of Maghriba Guard (how does that even work lore-wise?!) So now we have Zuyong, Riot Grrls, Orcs, Wu Ming, Maghriba, Securitate, etcetc as mercs, gradually diluting the faction identity and increasingly showing the NA2 to be an all-stars cross-faction project than real sectorials (Druze and JSA not included in those broad strokes). So before you make a particularly redundant and particularly ill-informed post. Think. Because seriously. Do read your own image. "Here's a list of number of non-vanilla troops" isn't a retort to the argument "There's too many vanilla troops in here"
They buy it, they're mercenaries. The same way modern day PMCs get their hands on armoured vehicles and military grade helicopters, by giving currency to the manufacturer in exchange for the materiel.
Yes, but how do they get access to premium gear that should reasonably be under embargo and manage to train the troops operating them to using the exact same tactics and techniques without refining their use to the operational specifications of the mercenary company? I mean, does Russian allow a fully kitted Mirage (including their electronic warfare technology) to be sold to anyone? I could reasonably buy that they managed to buy a Maghriba but that their in-house traininf resulted in different stats and skills and that some more premium gear on the original wasn't there. That'd be a fairly great way of making new stuff without making new SKU.
You don't train your own pilots, you find some nearing the end of their tour of duty and offer them 2-5 times what they earn working for the military. That's how today's PMCs do it.
Yeah. And they train them and arm them to work to the specifications of what the PMC needs which would result in a different skill set and different gear. A PMC Ghulam might reasonably carry a combi rifle because the PMC has determined that they can afford it and a combi is objectively better. A PMC Hunzakut has probably been trained to work in an integrated way with the rest of the company, becoming regular. A Celestial Guard is a Zhanshi that's been reassigned to a different unit with slightly different training and gear. It's this lack of attention to detail and this weird... fanservice?... that's galling. It makes them seem cheap and I question whether we really needed 10 sectorials developed on the cheap like this when they could've done three or four done to the quality of JSA
Gotta agree with @Mahtamori here. NA2 feels like Bootleg Infinity, and not the scantily-clad miniatures kind. It looks kind of lazy and the only new units are more Mercenary Characters that usually read like a teenager's OC and their private army. It's nice that players get the opportunity to reuse a few models from their collection to get a new and novel experience with the same troops, but it lacks the polish applied to most of the rest of Infinity in terms of mechanics and lore. Would definitely appreciate more JSAs in NA2, which is definitely not something I as a Yu Jing player expected to say.
