Foreign company looks as good as I thought it would be. Having the Kaplans was definitely a surprise I wasn't counting on. Bolts getting a haris is great news as well and fingers crossed for some point reductions. It's gonna be a hard choice between running securitate, kaplans, or the sof core link team. Dahshat company seems kinda strange as my first impression. I'm surprised there is no druze but I guess they don't need to be in every single faction lol. 4 bounty hunters is alot and I wonder if we will be able to make a 5 man bounty hunter team which would be awesome imo.
I might be interested in hiring FC at some point. They look like an interesting mix of PanO and Nomads. Lots of firepower, good hacking, good midfield presence, SoF are awesome, Kaplans and Uberfallkommando are a nice addon, as are AVA 2 Warcors :P
So Strategic Deployment. What's that exactly ? Bostria was not exactly great at describing it. Is it kinda "Strategos Lv2" for Hannibal and link he joins ?
Yeah, Bostria did entirely gloss over what it was and just mumbled something about bringing his fireteam with him. it's just one of those things we will probably have to wait for the special rules update.
Foreign Company seems to be made solely of models I love (even if I give Bolts' rules a hard time). An easy pick up.
Same, just the look of the army will be great. The akalis are one of my favorite minis in the game. Also if thinking correctly valkyrie looks like shes gonna be a close combat beast. Cc21 ph14 exp ccw with natural born warrior and berserk. If she combines berserk and nbw she goes up to cc30 and damage 15. That seems pretty good to me and if she drags her friends into the melee she gets more dice and damage. Granted the other persons attack would hit her back but with avicenna in the army I feel pretty confident tanking a hit.
So foreign company is a love letter to fans that love the good looking models (+the fans of the uberfallkommandos)? XD
I also think that it'll be very easy to collect for PanO players, if they're willing to proxy and convert. My plan: Securitate - I'll be getting Tunguska starter and Securitate box Brawlers - those will be proxied and converted, as I dislike the sculpts. Acon Regulars, Druze hacker, others spare minis I have around Kaplans - Hecklers and Grenzers should be awesome proxies. Better looking, too. This way I'll have use for spare models from Tunguska boxes CSU, Bolts, Akalis, Crocs - original sculpts, I have most of those Cube Jagers - no idea yet, but certainly a proxy. Kriza - the one from TJC starter should be enough Iguana - I'll be proxying it with one of my PanO TAGs, and the Hollow Man from the starter will get a HMG and should make an awesome Operator Zeros - Spektr models will fit better SoF will surely get their own sculpts, hopefully in a box Uberfallkommando box, as I really like them Clockmaker/Daktari - Machinist and Trauma Doc will do just fine This means three boxes, maybe additional one for SoF, a few single models - starting with Heckler Jammer. This will be pretty easy to collect.
I loved Starco... but hoooboy, Foreign Company looks amazing! Hannibal and the crew + Kriza + Zeroes + Crocmen is quite possibly the most commando things imaginable in a game of commandos! Does anyone want to speculate that Foreign Company and the rework to Corregidor might mean an upgrade to the Iguana?
I was worried that Dashat would be too big of a departure from Ikari/Druze for me to do, but it looks like I was wrong! I’ll almost certainly do them in the future... really I just want an excuse to own the Maghariba Guard.
Yeah that's definitely a good reason to own a Maggie. I think in the video they didn't really hype up dahshat enough and putting it in the same video with foreign company made it seem underwhelming. One thing though is there looks like there will be plenty of smoke in dahshat which the Hulang will absolutely love.
I had two model-driven wishes coming into this week: 1. A sectorial to run Maggie in 2. A way to run Ariadnan werewolves with my Haqq army Somehow we ended up with two ways to do both, with Ramah getting Maggie and Carmen and Batard, and Dashat getting Maggie and McMurrough. Let the silliness commence.
It sounded like Valkyrie will be getting a special edition release soonish, while Hannibal and Laxmee will eventually get models, and Massacre already has a model. The "box" recommended is the SoF box for Aristeia!, so I doubt they'll release a new Infinity box anytime soon. The opportunity to cross-promote is too strong (once you have the LoF Aristeia! faction box, you might as well buy the base game).
