Not entirely true, when you run the numbers BS14 has a higher success chance than BS12 + Mimetism (by ~1%), but grants a similarly higher success chance to the enemy (assuming BS Attack ARO and no MSV), and BS14 is outright better if the enemy dodges.
The new release catch-22: Tohaa: New model announcements and discontinued SKUs at the same time. Haqislam: New profiles, new sectorial, and discontinued SKUs at the same time. Shasvastii: No plans revealed concerning discontinued SKUs, and we all know how old the sectorial starter box is.
I think it's a pretty safe assumption that if it's currently on sale and says "Shasvastii" it's getting discontinued; be pleasantly surprised if otherwise.
I'm guessing at least new Starter for Shasvastii soon. After that, they'll replace some of the older scultps while releasing new ones through this year.
So we agree that not all gear is created equal. Err rather the cost is not consistent. Faction bias or not. A KHD should cost as much as a KHD should. Yet they fluctuate on a per faction basis or even unit it seems. Govads pay .5 SWC for it. Then you look at something like Druze and they cost 23pts for an X-Visor, Viral Pistol, CR, Chain-Colt, Vet L1, Fatality, and BTS3. Sekban were given a price break in N3 and made cheaper. For 21pts they get a similar statline. Gear may be similarly costed, but not all units are created (costed) equal.
They'll definitely go at some point - probably not right now though. I mean, whole units we're dropped in their new sectorial list.
Gah! I always mess those up in my head. Still though; that's like a kaplan/druze mash up. Neither of which are HI.
Aragoto LSG is the only unit I know of with a provable and defacto discount. We also know that SWC is a strong guideline rather than rule when it comes to unit prices, and it's used as a tool to promote or demote certain profiles. If a tool is meant to be readily available it might have the SWC cost reduced (such as Wu Ming LGL profile costing 0 SWC) while a profile that's only meant to be available as a tool but restricted might increase in SWC (such as JSA Rui Shi) I'm looking at Sekban and Druze. I can absolutely see the similarities between them and roughly where the costs go, but I can't really determine which one you're viewing as the one that's disadvantaged. From what I can see, the Druze looks a bit expensive by comparison, but that could easily be me having preconceived notions on how much 360 visors cost that are simply set too high. Keep in mind some gear vary depending on a model's BS value (which is why the CA's TR HMG gets Mimetism on the cheap)
If anything I'm glad that Haqqislam releases are finally putting a bullet in the head of the idiotic argument that Human troopers can't get the 6-2 movement stat.
The products of intensive, dedicated super soldier programs rebuilding them from the genes up could easily be called non-humans.
Yes, we had this argument in the YJ forums. Essentially it is now clearly in the realm of possibility for enhanced humans, either through biotech or other means (like super powered Iron Man armour, or both, aka Master Chief) and not just a one off accident with Tarik anymore.
Huh? It's always been a case of baseline humans not getting 6-2 MOV. We already know that extremely enhanced troopers can get it, from MetaChemistry, advanced Lhosts like Avicenna's, Achilles' or Joan's etc. That doesn't mean that we're going to see normal troopers like Orcs or Knights get 6-2 MOV.
More the point that troopers that are designed to be fast can be just that, fast. The Shang Ji for example, are a fucking shitty mess at the moment that have no place in the world because they're nothing more than bad expensive Zuyongs. Previously their schtick was they were the fastest human HI you could get. Being 6-2 would be a good way to make that their thing again with the justification that they got the cutting edge armour that lets them rocket around at high speed over short distances.
They (and Suryats) were 4-4 when most HI were 4-2. Apart from be Suryats this could also be a list of HI that feels fairly purposeless at the moment.
If you follow Carlos' explanation about the Clipsos on the cover of the army box, I guess we might get a rather 'sparse' cover for the shas box... Yeah, it seems I learned the possessive form the same way as CB...
