I have to agree. It's not that the design looks bad. I think they look awesome and those NOX soldiers are my favorite. But the Shas look too similar to Onyx. The Nexus and Unidrons are different sure, but they're not that different. I would've been happier with something a little more unique. I can't believe I'm thinking... i wanted something more alien. Based on the Sphinx's new look, i have to imagine we're getting a new mini. Would that mean we may get a new Noctifer as well?
I feel the opposite way. I'm happy the new Shas units will mesh well with Onyx units so the whole force has a more unified look.
You can buy the new one and use the old one too, they increased to AVA 2. (just kidding, no one field 2 TAG in a list)
I did! And it worked! I do think dual sphinx lists will be more prohibitive because Sphinxes cost a lot. But it's doable.
A Gwailos wildcard would definitely make me more excited about the Nox. Even if they didn’t change the profile at all, I’d be fine with it. I’m really wondering what the Taigha will do to distinguish themselves from Hungries. Maybe hyper dynamics or something so we don’t get access to smoke but have decently survivable warband?
Taighas could be S4, have DTWs and some CC ability, and have camo. I want everything in this sectorial to have camo.

As of now with what we know, it's not even possible to get 10 regular orders in such a list even if you spam basic Nox, Ikadrons, and R-Drones. But that depends on the Taigha, as it's unlikely anything else in the army will be below 14 points.
My brain read “some cc ability” as “actually useful in close combat”. Like a Daturazi upgraded to Camo. Although I guess losing grenades and smoke grenades would still put them in that range
MA1 and CC21 are actually not expensive by themselves. Look at Morlocks. At that point you are trading smoke for the extremely impetuous. If you want to keep them regular and non-impetuous then yes, price will shoot up, but then again I'd think to around 10 pts.
Is it just me, or is the design kinda lazy? It struck me when I saw the new Nox and Seed-Soldier concept art. I pasted them onto each other in photoshop to confirm that it's not just me and the only differences are: - Nox: backpack with antennas, shoulder pads - Seed-Soldiers: incubator tubes, extra sockets in armor That's it. Apart from the above differences, the designs are 100% identical, all the other differences are freehand on armor. And this is for two cheap units with large AVA that will probably appear on the table at the same time.

Two LI, presumably with pretty similar stats look similar? Isn't that what we should expect? I mean, a Nisse is just a Bagh Mari in a coat, and the Akal is a Bagh Mari with wings, but these flourishes make it clear they're different units with similar statlines, if it ends up that Seed Soldiers are Nox with a fancy rule, then the funky hairdo will hopefully separate them on the battlefield.
The dossiers are always very similar; they have basic forms they draw the unique faction details onto. A lot of the actual character comes from the sculptors. I’m betting Nox and Seeds will have very different posing. On the existing Shasvastii line you already have a lot of very similar units. Malignos and Shrouded differ only by suit texture, and other armies also have lots of models where a few carefully placed armor plates or unique details suffice to distinguish troops with otherwise very similar outfits.
