Oh boy... They said the Tohaa were cut off from reinforcements. CB is a bit too literal for my tastes.
Take that with an enormous grain of salt until it's confirmed by someone other than an account registered today with zero other posts.
With the way things have been recently, and CBs usual lack of announcements, I'd actually be more surprised if that list was wrong. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
My major problem with that list is that aside from AVA, it makes the Tohaa Trident match the Tohaa-race units in the Spiral, which strikes me as pretty narrow in terms of a difference. I guess that they could discontinue and keep them in the army list (ala MRRF), which... yeah, not impossible, but still odd.
It's certainly changed since when I got in during early N2. Which makes sense, but why do they feel the need to drop a whole army?
We've just being told that the new models will be usable for Tohaa, although not all the profiles. That means that vanilla Tohaa will go to the freezer, like Merovingia, but we'll still be able to play it until they completely rebuild and relaunch the Faction. I expect things like the Tricor not being available for vanilla Tohaa, because a CD16 Symbiomate-equipped Sukeul is broken beyond disbelief. I'm not sure about getting that Pherohacking, the middle-table Symbiont Armour Specialist, the linked Smoke GL... Anyway, just getting MY shootie-Impersonator with a VIral Pistol has made me extremely happy.
Alternative hypothesis: A forum regular made a ghost account to disguise their leak rather than risk their primary account getting banned?
So is that list, essentially, everything that isn't in Spiral? Feels like this is alluding to a full blown redesign of the original Sectorial for release in 2 Player Pack vs Shasvastii later in the year
Yeah, this clearly isn't an SKU issue which was apparently 50 SKU per faction. They're trying to MAKE anyone remotely interested in Tohaa buy all the discontinued stuff now. Essentially anyone who was waiting for the promised Year of the Alien to start Tohaa and wants to use the new Spiral stuff with them rather than NA-2 is being strongarmed into shelling out hundreds of dollars worth of minis in one go. This is actually pretty despicable and makes me doubt that CB was ever telling the truth about SKU shortages to begin with.
Was the leaked ASA discontinued list similar to this one datewise, cos this seems to implying that after April you can get fucked whereas ASA gave us like 6 months to get what you wanted. This is what makes me most sceptical. This would be a cool thing and would better explain my above point than just dumpstering it because.
Feels a bit fast for a full redesign of Tohaa. I'm skeptical too, but I think maybe the JSA comparison is more apt. That's the comparison made repeatedly by CB, and it basically happened overnight. The other problem I have with the sneakily posted list is that the Sukeuls, the gorgos pilot, and I think one of the kotails are all pretty new, modern sculpts. I'd think they'd keep them out there even if they tossed the rest.
3D sculpted models from that list: - Sukeul - Gorgos Pilot - Kotail - Nikoul - (not sure about this) Gorgos It's a pitty we're not getting new Nikoul profiles with this Sectorial, having just MSV1 and being non-linkable feels like a good match.
Not quite the same, because the Nikoul has better skills and equipment while costing a lot more. As Corvus already has the 3D sculpt of the Nikoul, it could've been a good moment to give it new profiles.
Pretty much only makes sense if they’re repackaging the pilot and the Gorgos together. Because it’s pretty much a list of “single model blisters that could be sold in boxes”. If CB was trying once again to reduce sku counts. I mean, go to someplace like TheWarStore and compare the Tohaa product list with the Tohaa product list on CB’s website.
