Whatever the new design is, I'm confident it's awesome. CB has been doing great work lately.

(I secretly hope it's a Sphinx even though I fully expect it to be something else. I don't think I will ever paint my Sphinx because i hate the mini that much. So a new mini would be welcome.)

I'm thinking of moving to CA next season and after reading CA profile I would like more CA skirmisher : camo/infiltration, camo/forward deployement and even decoy and/or ambush camo and maybe a unique mix of holo 2 and camo : you deploy 3 camo marker and only one is the true trooper

All that we need to make shas a mind game sectorial.

Even now you can mess with enemy's head by handing him a blank Courtesy List :P We can be almost sure that Shas will get Decoy, Holo and Ambush Camo are also very possible.

Heresy. Report to the nearest Seed-nest for reassimilation :P

    A motorcycle!

Just fucking with you, but since that crap is being put in everything these days, they'll probably get one and some REMs too.

I relayed liked the skinny obviously NOT human look to Shasvastii and I really hope they keep with that. I liked them as proper alien looking.

I don’t think it would be a Cadmus since the Cadmus lands inside the Seed Embryo. Assuming they are keeping that. I hope they don’t!

Well since Spiral Corp is April when do you think we will start seeing Shasvastii? I hope we don't have to wait till GenCon.

We might get rules at Adepticon but not many figs for a while. It's a little different from Uprising when that came out with JSA. most of the other NA2 armies already had figures for them. They hardly needed to do a thing. This year we have Spiral, Rahmah, Shasvastii, and who knows what else, and going to need new figs. Meanwhile, people are still waiting on Tunguska and IA figures.

I hope it's a new Sphinx. The old model is so ashamed, it uses TO camo so as never to see itself.

I doubt it. If you are talking about leaving Combined, i think it's nearly impossible. Not when you're alien overlord can just take your body over through your cube.

Very unlikely, though introducing a Shas-themed NA2 later on would be an interesting possibility.

Again, I must say that we shouldn't get too welded to the idea that the current setup is eternal.

Shasvastii might well come to a conclusion that their current situation is just like riding a tiger; it's all fun and games, for now. Sure, their submission to the biggest bully on the block makes them safe, but the bully doesn't care about them or their survival - they're just a tool. Humanity and Tohaa would be much weaker allies, and as such less threatening in the long term. Now, if Shas could defect and provide enough intel - and sabotage on the way out - for all the potential CA prey races to cut EI down to size...

Machiavelli warned against supporting strong neighbours against weak ones. You should do it the other way around. I'm pretty sure that Shas are smart enough to figure it out... and the nature of SEF operation, with long periods of operating autonomously, behind enemy lines, and beyond EI oversight leaves a lot of opportunities to scheme how to escape EI control.

All this is pure theory, of course. I doubt we'll see something like this, and even if then it won't be soon. But ultimately it's in CB's power to take the story where they want, and if they'll decide it's good for the game then they'll do so, whatever we might think.

I was going to say that Shas leaving the EI would have serious implications on the actual strength of the EI, but you bring up a good point about them going with the weaker of the two so as not to be as threatened by them.

That said, their race may just be a tool for the EI, but as such they are ensuring the survival of their species (survival >> freedom)... unless something changes drastically on that front, I can't really think of a reason for Shas as a whole to leave the EI. I do agree that a rogue contingent of Shas would not feel at all out of place as an NA2 army, though.

In their own background it's said that there are factions of Shasvastii that don't think they should rely on the EI and will do things on their own without approval.

I can't wait to see what they do, I don't think we will get any HI units but I can see everything else being expanded. I hope they will give us another AD option and maybe some tags like the Xeodrons. Hope to see a better hacking options as well.

You know what's best for the Shas? Allying with both.

Humans think that Shas splinter groups are a good thing: they know well the EI, they use high tech that can be retroengineered and most of all, HS need all help they can get.

EI know that there are shas splinter groups and probably knows that he can't purge all shasvastii (since it will means losing a tool and giving it to your enemies). At the same time, it will try to eradicate those groups just like it does with Morat rebels.

Shas are perfectly ok with this situation. Whoever wins, they'll survive.

One can also say that the EI (being a millenia old AI strategic genius, that thinks 10 moves ahead) is ok with this school of thought. It means that when the EI will be almost winning the war, most Shas will easily come back to mommy EI carrying all informations acquired, thus crippling any possible human resistance.
Yes, it will probably be harder to win for the EI, but if you're confident of your strenght, then you'll be much more happy to have a race that's not constantly revolting when you finish.

Trust me, I'm Italian. I know how you can win a war...while losing it.

I don't think that new sillhouette is the Cadmus, because the Cadmus lands in a seed-pod (there's a comic of it in 3rd Offensive).

Sphinx is a decent guess, tho those fins suggest a change from climbing plus to super jump? not sure.

My money's on Shas getting one of those S5 big HI models everyone else is getting, and it being something weird and fast.

Here's a better view of the mystery big boy, from the trailer that just dropped.

Definitely sphinx-like, but the wings throw me off the idea.
