Well, my copy is actually the 2nd edition, published in 1965 (got it from my Dad, who used the book in his PhD dissertation). But yeah, it's just a little old. Interesting thoughts from people on apostrophe usage. I asked because I was taught that you use ‘s if a noun is singular, regardless of if it ends in s, and a bare ‘ is only for plurals.
My take is: Daedalus - singular Daedaluses - plural Daedalus’s - singular possessive Daedaluses’ - plural possessive Looking online, there are a variety of style guides with conflicting rules.
