...Pretty sure nobody is "demanding" anything here. But you knew that--or would, assuming you actually read the posts instead of rocketing in with shields up. "Stay in your lane"? Cute, WarCor.
Ha! How often do you bring up these same topics @kanluwen ? So yes, when it is repetitive like it is with you, its is...say it with me..."DEMANDING". CB doesn't owe you anything. They do a fantastic job of communicating and engaging their customers. And what you are asking for is quite out of line. It is adorable when you try to fight back. Keep it up. I am sure someone is listening.
Well, considering it seems to be the common refrain from some folks, who decry every single decision made by CB and always fall back on the "if only we had the data we could make a proper assessment" or the related "CB likely doesn't even have the data to make these kinds of decisions properly" it's reasonable to see a demand in that repeated refrain...
Shops would likely have a bit more insight that could be offered assuming an engaged shop that is interactive with its community and gamers, such as "Model X sells a lot but we hardly see anyone actually using it in games." or "I have a lot of players who bought Model Y, but have since converted it to represent Model X's <insert profile here> that hasn't been released yet".
I'm not asking for anything. Do you need one of the big boy WarCors to come and read to you? I've simply stated that we have 0 way of making statements one way or the other because CB doesn't(SAY IT WITH ME NOW) release that information. I love that I don't even have to try to make the WarCor program look bad. Another top pick, CB!
Yeah, no one demands anything here. I know we're gamers and have a reputation to uphold, but let's stay civil.
Isn't that massively subjective and patchy though? Not to mention that a lot of shops do a lot of their business online, and you're completely missing any info from gaming clubs and communities not attached to a shop (which is where I've mostly played Infinity) Do the subset of bricks and mortar shops that also have gaming space and an active Infinity community usually provide that feedback to manufacturers? Or is it more "I need five more orcs and a box of elves please? No more one-legged dwarves though as I still have plenty"
However, again, when that refrain goes on and on and on and on, it's reasonable to see it crossing into a demand. You don't have to agree, that's your bailiwick, but when it's the same message on loop, well... yeah.
There are ways to say that it's not practical to expect companies share data which they base business decisions on (not that anyone was particularly asking that they do) without bringing the conversation down as you do it. Although there are always ways to share criticisms about the decisions of CB that also don't bring conversations down as you do it as well, in all fairness, and not ways which are always used by some around here.
@kanluwen was responding to my post specifically and it was a fair response in my view. People are overreacting.
GW managed to not look at the numbers for over 20 years. Including public statements from their CEO that would have been grounds for shareholder lawsuits over failing to adhere to their fiduciary duties in the US. Had GW been paying attention to the numbers, they would have seen their unit sales actually going down as their prices went up. ~20% (average) across the board price increase with only a 15% increase in gross revenue means a ~5% reduction in total sales. Nice to know that you think someone with a BBA from one of the to 25 business schools in the US is "uneducated". Were CB a publicly-traded company, they would be required-by-law to share a whole lot more data than they do now.
I guess your eternal defense of everything cb does would give you excellent insight into messages on loop.
Olla, meet caldera. And, well, yes, I'm going to defend a company that makes a product I enjoy and have enjoyed for years and which (based on the information available publicly to us all) seems to be doing quite well at it over believing and/or giving credence to random people on the Internet...
Gotta love the hyenas dogpiling on anything a warcor says to the tune of the chief troll's cheap snark.
This is a pointless argument that will go nowhere Before we all take the chance to throw our super witty hot take into the ring, can we drop it for the sanity of all involved?
