I’m starting to form an attachment to my Trauma-Doc despite her sculpt. I named her Sharmila, she’s got a positive K/D ratio and most of her kills are enemy models! I’d hate to retire her for a newer sculpt at this point.

In that Ripple Creek book (When Diplomacy Fails...), only the regular troops are using the neon camo (it's a passing shot at the US Army's old universal camo pattern that didn't hide anyone anywhere). Everyone else (like the Recon troops assigned to the Embassy) is using camo that actually works.

Were I really ambitious, I'd want to try to paint Kryptech camo on minis. But even painting Multicam is hard enough (you get the fades by using some inks or airbrush paints instead of solid colors). Kryptech has some very odd fine 'masking' lines in the pattern that are almost impossible to get without actually masking different layers of the pattern.

Since I found my copy of that book, here's the actual reaction of the main characters to seeing that neon camo for the first time:

From a design point of view Kryptech is beautiful but trying to do that on anything 32mm scale would be torture. It might work on the Luxumbra 72mm scale busts but even I'm not that much of a masochist.
