It is! Ikari had the Wu Ming Haris and the Tanko/Brawler/Keisotsu core which is really strong. Ideally I'd like to see Mobile Brigada get a little cheaper, be very flexible in link options, and maybe get some other cheap load outs. If they became the Wu Ming of CJC, that'd be awesome. It'd really define them as solid, no frills, workhorse troops.
Then let us vote for SymbioKoalas (Bombs) and SymbioZonds (Shield). ;D I am not a fan of that massive fireteam mixes as well. See my post of what I think would help Corregidor. I really doubt as well we will see many changes apart from some new fireteam options.
I initially hated the mixed fireteams because it seemed like massive powercreep for sectorials over vanilla. I've since come to appreciate them. The primary methods of dealing with fireteams has remained unchanged (templates) but now there are super squishy weakpoints in damn near every mixed link. Corregidor in particular has the tools to punish this style of play with Hellcats, Tomcats, or even McMurrough/Massacre/Intruder's grenades. Per your post: (5th comment on page 3 for the curious.) I'd also love a points rework to the MB, but if Orcs didn't get it I doubt we will. Linking with line troops is the replacement I suppose. Gotta admit it does fit the professional army style fluff. An Intruder wildcard would be excellent even if it's only the combi unit with mimetism instead of camo. That would be valuable for every other link without being broken in my opinion. Still holding out hope for an Iguana rework as well. I don't even know what I'd want to change, but with both CJC and QK being updated this would be the time to do it.
As I already said in the past imho sectoral should benefit from special loadout for profiles. As we already see in all newish sectoral (example: Perseus FTO, stempler FTO, tsiklon FD1, etc). This way you could actually give something new to sectorials without having to balance it in a Vanilla optic
How big is the brigada mixed link? I originally got into CJC for the brigada and left because the sectorial is meh. If Lupe is considered an alguacile for fireteams, is she likely to be part of the brigada link? Because B2 smoke and panzerfaust with everything else there sounds delicious. What are the new brigada fireteams for CJC? HMG, BSG LT, hacker alguacile, paramedic alguacile and what?
All we know so far is that Alguaciles and Brigada will mix, we don't really know much more about the update yet.
given that we know brigada can go in an aggie link, and that currently she counts as an aggie and that in vird bipandra maintained the ability to go in a fusi link which can still have an orc in it I would say its reasonable to assume that you could have her in the link. Didn't orcs pick up a few extra rules to make up the cost? At most I fell like brigada are 2-3 points over and I'd be happy for them to pick up a heavy pistol or vet1
No, VIRD did get unique ORCs with Stealth and terrain skills for an extra point, and we got the new Feueueurbach and BSG+Tinbot loadout for Vanilla ORCS, but otherwise the profiles are the same.
In Varuna, ORCs get divided into two categories: standard ORCs, and Varuna Division ORCs. Standard ORCs are basically just there for theme... Noone uses them, because they miss out on a lot of Varuna-specific features. The VIRD Division ORCs are a point more expensive than their regular ORC counterparts... But they get Stealth, Terrain, and the ability to form mixed Fireteams (standard ORCs actually can't participate in a Fusilier fireteam, even though they can be legally taken in the Sectorial.) So VIRD ORCs are technically more expensive than standard ORCs, but they get piles of cool stuff to offset that meager point increase, and clearly noone's bothered by that at all. Hard to say if anything like that would cross over for Brigada, since Corregidor is the home of the Brigada, whereas ORCs show up in 3 PanO Sectorials. VIRD says 2 ORCs and 3 Fusiliers can form a fireteam, but most players sidetrack around this by doing 1 ORC, one Wildcard Kamau, and 3 Fusiliers. I wouldn't be surprised if Brigada had a similar format of 2 HI + 3 line troopers, with a wildcard that lets you chop that down to 1 Hi + 1 Wildcard + 3 line troopers.
A Brigada, Lupe(if she's a wildcard) and 3 alguaciles, is not bad at all. But a preffer to have the option to choose just a single brigada. Let's see :)
Part of me really hopes Wildcats get Wildcard, being able to slot a cheap BS13 heavy weapon, or an engineer, or No2 into a Jaguar or Algs&Brigs team looks really attractive. They have a downside with only 4-2 Move but their FD1 ameliorates that a little and most profiles also bring a tasty (toasty?) DTW.
Their lore blurb states that in addition to being mobile shock troops that they are trained to support aggies so it wouldn't surprise me they do pick up wildcard or counts as securitate+grenzer style. I also hope they get looked at to some degree.
As this is a wild speculation thread... could we pretty please get a core linked gecko?! Maybe combine him with brigada for the heaviest of heavy metal links? Not sure if it would be good, but certainly fun!
Considering the Geckos are already AVA 4 and Iguana is AVA 1, I think it's time for Nomads to reclaim their original design space as the TAG faction with "Fireteam: TAG You're It". Edit: Wow, just looked at the army builder and we're tied with CA for most TAGs you can fit in a 300pt list. Take that PanO
My wishlist: Wildcats being reinforced as a pure Fireteam, with one special troop to link in like Interventor to Grenzer, or Mechanist to Kamau. Plus 1-2 new profiles. 2 new Gecko profiles with models (far fetched but an easy sell for CB) Mixed Gecko Duo (Brigada or Tsyklon?) Touched up Iguana Linkable Tsyklons in any form, probably Duo or maybe Haris. Just want to see them used more. Non-specialist Moran with a better weapon and/or equipment. 3 AVA 3 Bandit AVA A way to link 1 or 2 Jaguars without using a character Something cool AD (maybe just Carlota) Slighty reworked Tomcats to make their non-specialist profiles more desirable
knock the SWC cost off of the deployable repeater and DEP models, I've found it makes them really awkward to fit into a list because of how tight SWC is in CJC.
I don't know how this would play out on the table, but I'd like to see the Nomad Combat REMs be linkable. e.g. a spitfire Tsyklon in an Alguacil link or a Lunakhod in a Brigada link. For no other reason than I think it would be cool thematically.
Haris Jaguars without a character needed would be cool Tsyklon or Lunokhod in core link would be very cool too. I feel like they're a bit expensive as is (compare to Rui Shi) so +1 to that!
