Hi Guys, Need some advice here. I have started playing Infinity about a month and a half ago. Purchased Red Veil and Beyond Red veil. For all this time I have played Yu Jing, more specifically ISS. I am starting to wonder if this army is for me as they have very little tricks, and are very predicatble. So I want to start trying my Haqq to see if their playstyle fits me more. So far I have the following: - Red Veil - Beyond Red Veil - Al Hawwa'unit - Haqqislam remotes - Hassassin Ragik. I am being told that I need GHAZI MUTTAWI´AH which can be fixed. Would I have what I need to make a decent list or two out of that? Would anyone care to help me by showing me one or two to get my head around it? Tks
The thing is - do you want to go Vanilla Haqq, or focus on (soon to be released, and suppossedly the bee's knees all around!) Ramah Task Force? In the latter case, I'm afraid that: 1. We don't exactly know what will be there, and 2. We can predict - with a good dose of certianty - that Hassassin Ragik, Fiday and Farzan, as well as the Al'Hawwa, won't be in it. Ghazi Muttawi'ah? Certainly useful, but I don't run them in every list I play, even when I play Hassassins. So rest assured :P Between the models you already have, you should be able to put together a couple of interesting lists, especially if you keep to the lower game sizes (which I absolutely do recommend, if you are relatively new to the game). I'd say the next, and very universal, purchase could easily be the Haqq Support Box (Doc, Engineer & the G:Servant REMs).
Wasn't there a Farzan (different loadout - Rifle, as for the FO - but suppossedly arm-swappable with Ragik) in the Beyond RV box OP already has?
No, there wasn't one. But you can convert one with Farzan from the Hassassin starter and the Bording Shotgun from the Ragik from the Beyond Red Veil. Would recommend following purchases: - Hassassin Bahram Starter for Farzan and Daylami - Leila Shariv - Lasiq sniper - Naffatun Box - Hunzakut
Thank you for your input. Like I said I want to start with what I have so I guess that means Vanilla....
If you are going vanilla the Djanbzan (Sectoral:QK) HMG is usually an MVP due to his MSV2. But with the release of the Khawarij(Sectoral:RTF) MSV2 MK12 the status of best MSV2 model may be contested. I personally think the Djanbzan is more durable and better, but given the rest of your models I would consider the Khawarij box since it will let you play RTF when its released. Considering you have Tarik (Sectoral:RTF) you may want to get a Chain of command (CoC) model to be your back up Lt. the Farazan (Sectoral: HB) was the only CoC for a long time, but the new Khawarij CoC profile just got released. A second reason to get the Khawariji box. Lastly I would consider Saladin (Sectoral: RTF?) for his stratigo L3. But that is something to buy later on.
All solid advice here. Next piece I would add to your list is the Ghulam swc box - one of the best line infantry boxes in the game, point for point. This will let you venture into fireteams, if interested. The hacker is also a common proxy for a barid, so there's that. Khawarj box is also looking like it will have huge value for you. (As others have said). Welcome to the greatest faction in the game!
What do you want to do? You specify that ISS lacks "tricks" and is predictable. Which is a common feature of any sectorial force. Are you suggesting it may be the lack of range of options?
I would agree with oldGregg that those are solid advice for what to look into for expanding the roster. I would say that if you are going mostly vanilla. Then 1-2 Kum bikes or their character versions can be used as fast pre smoke support for some Ghazis or just stand-alone harass unit. I recommend getting the Nazarova twins as they can be used as proxy for normal Kum bikes. But they are a bit pricey for what you get. Would also recommend to try out using units like Muyibs for they skill V.Dogged, Azra'il for a less pricey heavy aro unit or Kaplan Tactical Service for the blitzen and adhesive launcher on a engineer. by proxy them before buying But in the end I feel vanilla Haqqislam often wins more on how well unit synergy can be used.
As many people have stated before, Haqq is a bit different than other factions: besides Tark and Maggie we don't have dedicated shooters with a big gun, great BS and high SWC like other armies (PanO, YJ, Aleph). Wen you play some games with the faction you'll start to notice that your most powerfull units aren't the most obvious or expensive ones (Ghazis, Daylamis, Fidays, midfield skirmishers, etc). Please remember that even the humble Ghulam Doc+ has a LS to land on that pesky link team. Wich brings me to the next point: asymmetrical trading. This mean exchanging one of your cheap pieces for other more expensive/important from your opponent's. White Noise podcast uploaded an episode about this topic this week and I recommend you to listen it http://benandmarty.libsyn.com/69-ben-trades-up After you get a hold to the faction and learn how to manage regular and irregular order pools, I suggest you to buy the support pack and maybe try to proxy a sectorial to confirm if you are a sectorial or vanilla player (I gravitate more towards vanilla, but also play Hassassin from time to time). I'd proxy a list with the profiles of the starter and, if you like it, proceed to buy that starter. Hope I'd been helpful and welcome to the true faith. Allah be praised!
