@PsychoThruster, ultimately if your group is happy with it and it works for you then it's good, however at a competitive level it's eating time and open to argument which is why the current ruling is optimal to a wider audience, I'm all for house ruling things and hope you continue to enjoy the game.
Thank you, and personal preference aside I totally agree with you. Though I do think the images and examples presented in the rules could be better to help clarify the issues.
