Meh from me as well...I will most likley not add Carmen or Batard to my RTF lists if they are available (which seems to be the case based on Koni's comment). I am foolish and really like a visually themed army for cohesiveness even if I have to give up a bit of capability (stupid I know). I really like the idea of my Dervish desert army and the (yet another) motorcycle kid is not what I want for my RTF....give me super soldier dune warriors of various types, not mercs! Also, IMHO there are too many biker options across armies as it is...I know some folks like them but just not for me. In my mind my super soldier would not necessarily need a motorcycle...it just makes everything feel more cut and paste and generic.
I'm not a huge fan of mercs in general (I'd rather see a new unit for that sectorial), so its a meh from me too, but not a massive meh. I'll live.
While a part of me says “meh”, the other part is happy we are getting cheap and mobile smoke to get the most out of the Kharwij MSV2. Plus the Sensor will be useful for the jumps boys in fishing out Camo specialists.
She's a pretty devastating CC option too, with CC22 Burst 2, DAM14/16 DA if both get into CC. Also great for cracking AC2s.
The profile is good, but thematically very unappealing. Look at Solars profile...cut Vet L2, make it faster, add Smoke and Sensor and we have a very similar unit, that fits so good backgroundwise (save for the Bahram specific stuff).
Agreed...thematically unappealing. I wish that theme was a higher priority at times for CB . CB could easily make a unique RTF piece with much of the same stat goodness that was not a merc and not thematically disjointed. Once again just personal preference...different strokes for different folks.
I'm with you on this @emperorsaistone The closer we get to release, the more I start to worry that RTF will be unsatisfying from a thematic or aesthetic perspective. I don't really want my beautiful Khawarij jumping around with a silly antipode. Haqq's aesthetic is what brought me to the faction in the first place. And if they are our only source for smoke, well that kind of = auto-include. Especially if you're running MSV khawarij. I don't want this to be our option. That said, I still can't wait to see what else we've got coming. EDIT: I don't want this to be our option just because of how it looks. The profile is ok.
I hope we do, ive been saying haqq could use a traditional elite warband type unit for a while. Something thats maybe 10 points at its cheapest.
There's so much complaining in the forums lately. Weird is that I'm grumpy myself, but the vision of having a dog between my Khawarijs is rather funny for me :) Carmen isn't a girl of my dreams, her fluff is rather silly, but her stats are at least interesting. And synchronized sensor, who can throw big hammers?... Call me intrigued - I'll gladly paint me some viscious beast. And her puppy ;) I hope RTF will be great. CB can do this. PozdRawiam / Greetings
Completely agree here. I don't really have a problem with the stat-line/overall profiles. Its just the potential aesthetic. Me too, and yes they can. VIRD was an absolutely fantastic execution by CB, as I have said many times.
First of all I want to speak about kasym beg why isnt he natural born warrior. Carmen is so i dont understand this. Second maybe carmen goes into vanilla haqqislam that would be great. Third, I think of a new TO or Camo unit with spitfire. Or something with camouflage and HRL. Maybe a new central table unit since we only have Tuareg ... my wish is Tuareg KHD.
Pessimistic thought: We're not getting new units, only mercs. Interesting fireteam options were a lie. The most viable thing we get is Tarik + MSV2 Khawarij in Core. Sry. Just losing optimism for Ramah due to long wait and several cool Sectorials that came out recently. Not feeling like Ramah is going to be anything cool or mindblowing after those.
Tuareg KHD would be awesome. So would a Tuareg Spitfire/any other SWC weapon. I love Tuaregs! @LoganGarnett yeah, I feel you. And I could see you being probably right. But this: I'm kind of the opposite on. For me, it is interesting enough for Tarik to get wildcard and new Khawarij options that are linkable. I'm going to be running those bad boys 100% of the time anyways. (Or 85-90% of the time, if I'm being realistic).
