I've got my Third Offensive Libertos Freedom Fighter that I'm planning to use for one of my Helots, but frankly, with my VIRD, I want to run 2 or even 3 of them. Using Libertos gets pricy quick! For an upcoming tournament, I'm thinking of using the Morlock Lizardmen as proxies, but not knowing how long it will be until we see Helot Militia, I'd really like to come up with a better model. I've heard of one person using Malifaux Silurids, though they are bigger and bulkier than a Helot should really be. What are other players out there using?
I'm using Corregidor Jaguars with Panzerfaust for my Helots. But for me it's more importand to match the right armament then to get the right species.
I'm using some previously unused Cube Jaegers as stand-ins. I wont even bother painting them, just waiting for the Helot box to come out
I use Libertos, of course. I got one with my book, then my other two came from Sectorial-only players, who can't use Libertos in their lists. Of course I'm hoping for a Helot box soon, but I'm not holding my breath too hard. I haven't seen anything to indicate the Helot Box is coming in the next few months, though I certainly hope I'm wrong.
I printed a bunch of these guys: Need to greenstuff some simple armour on them, and maybe a tail. Oh, and stick some appropriate guns on there :)
