With the double pistol model, it would even be very easy to justify any profile addition.

What was even the point of excluding Surprise Shot L2 from Sniper profile?

Nevermind that it would still be a B2 active turn shooter with little going for him that also loses some of his tricks available for other profiles.

And still pretty bad at dismantling fireteams, still extra limited in HB.

If you have a Kamau link team I am going to light that Kamau the fuck up with my Govad HMG link.

Might even do it with the ML if you cluster them poorly, see if I can hit two or three at once.

Seriously the Govad five man team is really killer. Muyibs are good but they're better for CQB where you might want to use Dogged to slow down a close quarters rambo while you still have a LSg for ARO, and you have the mines, DEPs, HRL, Spitfire etc. Govads are long range seek and destroy; mobile and aggressive. You flank and let lose with that HMG, then pin down firelanes against a counterattack with the ML. With SSL2, +3 BS and MSV1 they'll be hitting on 12s or better in +3 range against basically anything in the game.

Also I think the SR doesn't have SSL2 because it would increase the cost over 40pts and also because presumably they tested it and found it sliiiightly past the power curve than what they intended. I think that the Ayyar Sniper and MR profiles are incredible tbh, the Ayyar is consistently one of my best guys on the board.

It is definitely better than some of our options, but the odds aren't great for an active turn play:
    Face to Face Roll
Govads - HMG vs. Kamau Amphibious Intervention Teams (MSV 2) - MULTI Sniper Rifle (Anti-Materiel Mode)
    Active Player
51.48% Govads inflicts 1 or more wounds on Kamau Amphibious Intervention Teams (MSV 2) (Unconscious)
22.63% Govads inflicts 2 or more wounds on Kamau Amphibious Intervention Teams (MSV 2) (Dead)

    Failures
    22.89% Neither player succeeds
    Reactive Player
25.63% Kamau Amphibious Intervention Teams (MSV 2) inflicts 1 or more wounds on Govads (Unconscious)
11.93% Kamau Amphibious Intervention Teams (MSV 2) inflicts 2 or more wounds on Govads (Dead)

    Active Model
    • Base BS of 12
    • Cover grants -3 BS
    • Cover grants opponent +3 ARM
    • Link Team grants +3 BS
    • MSV ignores CH modifier
    • Range grants +3 BS
    • Link Team grants +1 B
    • Net BS is 15

    Reactive Model
    • Base BS of 13
    • Cover grants -3 BS
    • Cover grants opponent +3 ARM
    • Link Team grants +3 BS
    • Range grants +3 BS
    • Link Team grants +1 B
    • Net BS is 16

The odds are a lot better if you can get a template down that clips the Kamau. (Like with that ML you mentioned). Muyibs bring more templates though.

That's about as good odds as you're going to get vs a fully linked Kamau Sniper tbh, there's not many things that can get as high as BS15 burst 5 against them.

I'll take a 50% of a wound, 20% of nothing and 20% of my HMG being fixed by an excellent Haqq doc+ before reforming the link and trying again against what is arguably the most powerful linked ARO in the game, sure.

I wish it was a Grenzer Spitfire, who's even better in the 8-16" band but a Govad will do it!

Don’t get me wrong, it’s about as good as you’re going to get face-to-face in HB. It’s viable.

I just prefer to avoid that and drop some templates or take out the rest of the link, and muyibs do that, while also handling a lot of other chores in the meantime.

I think a heavy, or even the light, rocket launcher could be a nice adition to the weapons options for Asawiras or Ayar, more in the Ayar arsenal. I this case with the Surprise Shot Level 2. Of course.

About Govads, yes they are pretty miniatures and really good profile (most of them, the killer hacker with 0.5 SWC has no sense but still) but not for every enemy. Now with the proliferation of troups with mimetism mabye will be a better choice, but when you haven't any clue of what you will confront or how the table could be dispose, muyibs are better because have a more polyvalent weapons options and something offensive and deffensivo can easily build it.

I think Govads should be make fireteam with the Ghulams, or some Ghulams could come into a fireteam of govads. In this case probably the people use it more. But Govads aren't the only option eclipsed by the Muyibs. Some similar happens with the Lasiqs. A really expensive fireteam and too many few options.

Still, I think hassasin can kick the ass any faction or sectorial. Yes, will be hard, really really hard, but you can do it.

Agree on perhaps Hassassins getting a more expensive and elite troop option.

I came up with a very Dune inspired unit of my own called a Qdis, a veteran Hassassin who has walked from Alamut to Gabqar on pilgrimage and there sequestered themselves in the mountains, imbibing silk directly through a secret Hassassin method.

Those who survive the weather, wild animals, Bandits, military patrols etc would learn minute and exacting control of their body and mind (think Bene Gesserit/Mentat techniques) and grow techno-organic silk structures in their nervous system that allow them to process vast quantities of information, subliming themselves into a full spectrum of data. In this state they experience a transcendental sense of quantronic ecstacy, a religious experience that opens their eyes to new vistas of thought and enlightenment.

They are the Hassassins closest to the Old Man and are theorised to perhaps be sub-nodes of whatever the Master of the Sect is, mentally connected to him. The Qdis are the philosophers, profilers and sufis of the Sect, amongst their most lethal fighters and guardians of their closest secrets. In combat they provide leadership and supreme levels of intelligence and information, as well as nigh on supernatural levels of skill.

    4-4, 22, 13, 13, 15, 1, 3, 1, 2, Regular, AVA 1 (AVA 2 Hassassin Bahram)

Bioimmunity, CH: Mimetism, Forward Deployment L1, Multiterrain, Natural Born Warrior, Veteran L2 (V: NWI, Sixth Sense L2)

    DACCW, Knife, Pistol, Rifle+LSG - 38pts
    DACCW, Knife, Pistol, Rifle+LSG (Counterintelligence) - 42pts
    DACCW, Knife, Pistol, Rifle+LSG (Lieutenant) - 38pts
DACCW, Knife, Pistol, Rifle+LSG (Counterintelligence, Lieutenant) - 42pts

Wildcard, may join any Sectoral in the Hassassin Bahram Sectoral.

While I like the Rocket Launchers, it wouldnt address the need I stated for an an expensive troop to make 1 CG lists easier to build. That profile might even be the cheapest in the end:smile:

For the thing about Govads and Lasiq you said...I again rather had a Wildcard option for Avicenna...she would solve the problem, that Govads dont have a Doc and bring Lasiqs to a full core with Specialists.
On top of that, let Yasbir join Lasiqs too and give Ayyar a FTO without Holo2 profile for Lasiqs. They both use Viral Weaponry so it would fit thematically.

With those changes, youd get a lot more options for Hassassins, without using the standard line Infantry as powerboost for expensive models...cause thats something thats going overboard right now. And you have options besides the Muyibs and the Asawira Haris.

Agree on the power level...at least in my meta I do really well with them (when I not limit myself to one CG).

Very nice background blurb, I really like it.

The profile is also awesome, but screams Ramah frome every angle to me. Its basically a Khawarij on steroids and some kind of supersoldier Id love to see in RTF.

I really like Govads. The HMG sculpt is one of my favourites in Inifity overall.
Govads work for me, because I'm facing a lot of Ariadna and other factions with visual modifiers.

I think they work best as a defensive Haris (Missile launcher + sniper) or a hunter killer Haris (HMG + KHD for objectives/close range firepower.)

I do have some issues with the Govads though. No doctor profile to bring along im your link and both specialist options cost 0.5 SWC. On top of that you can only bring 5 Govads, so you can't bring a spare 6th in case one goes completely down and you want to reform the team.

Muyibs are way more flexible in comparison, but lack long distance engagement power. They are however able to bring along all kinds specialists and spares thanks to Leilah (7 in total!)

Asawira and Muyib links are just so much better and toolboxy, it's kind of a shame. Not every fireteam needs to be able to do everything, but I hope the Govads and Lasiqs get some love in the future to allow some diversity in HB lists. :)

i'd like to see what happened for bagh-mari in Acontecimento. Up to 2 Govad can join a fireteam core of ghulam. That way you can have a good active shooter, decent specialist (finally a doctor) with 0 swc tax and the overall cost of the fireteam way lower.

The 5 limit, no doctor option is huge unfortunately (and easy to fix).

That's a lot more flexibility than I could hope for, to be honest. That way you can have full Core with rather decent shooter (everyone has mimetism these days, one of the reasons I have to revise my low opinion of Govads as they are), an extra body and/or a free doc with nasmat (anyone knows if we can willingly disconnect from one?), and an option to add Leila to Asawira Haris while maintaining everything previously mentioned.

Then again, up to 1 Govad into Ghulam Core will already be great, and even just up to 1 Govad per hassassin fireteam (limitation comes to my mind because of fluff reasons) will be a good bonus I imagine people will be using, although nowhere as liberating as more Ghulam Core options.

yes but ghulam have ava 4, if you can link a Govad with them you can have a full core without Leila and you are free to link her in asawira haris. That's what @Barrogh is telling us. i guess.
