Multi Rifle Hsien

    Simply put, the MR Hsien model is absolutely gorgeous. Aside from that, while it lacks the raw punch of the HMG version, I'm quite a fan of the MR loadouts available for the Hsien, especially as part of a Haris. As a close-range firefighter, he has a great kit of options available, albeit requiring more support than more independent units like the Daofei or Su-Jian. And as a doorkicker, smoke support should make it absolutely dominant in its favoured conditions. I have one list that I've been working on for the guy, but I'm wondering what other builds I could apply him to, both as part of ISS and potentially even Vanilla (although I feel he takes a hard back seat to the HMG here).

    So far, I've managed to come up with this list for close-quarters firefights and mid-field centric missions.

    I like what I have here, but obviously it's a bit limited once longer range foes become involved. I'm wondering at the moment if anyone has any experience pairing the MR Hsien Haris with a Su Jian-based list. It seems like something that would have a potent 1-2 punch while still having good smoke support and leaving enough room leftover for some longer range support.

    I think your instinct to try to fit in a Su-Jian is a good one, as they do compliment each other nicely. Here's a list that I've run that I greatly enjoyed that may suit your interest:

    I have found that as long as you can keep the Smoke LGL alive, it's not difficult to open up lanes of approach to get the Su-Jian or Hsien into the fray. Try it out and let me know what you think.

    I really like your list! But i would swap the Lt from the Hsien to one Celestial Guard. I think in the link he is a bit more protected and the Hsien can be used even more agressively.

    And yes, the MR Hsien is maybe the greatest Infinity Sculpt ever. So much badass in one miniature.

    For more fun, stick in the Multi+LGL Wu Ming. Gives you a weapon for every target in the 8-16" range band, even ones you can't see!

    Im a big fan: tinbot, LT hsien, multi rifle bring his haris and hacker buddies, play highly classified, its a good time.

    How about getting a Hsien MR Haris in one group and a Su Jian in another? The drawback I see with the MR is basically it's inability to take on good long range AROs with visors. So, you take the Cat for a Cautios Movement walk, spend Group As pool taking out that pesky ARO and the throw smoke and move the highest ranking agent in the ISS up the field to take control of the board.

    What do you think?

    I love the multi rifle model. It is one of my top three favorite next to Achilles and maybe a Hac Tao.

    I’ve played around a dozen games with the multi rifle hsien. My trouble with him is that I’ve found the hmg to be amazing in almost every game I’ve used him. Even without smoke, he is a monster from 16 to 32 inches. From 8-16 he still hits targets in cover with four dice on 11s, which wins most firefights. Especially against low bs skirmishers that often get that close.

    The multirifle has been locked down more times than I can count. Because the -6 swing past 16 inches makes him incredibly ineffective.

    If I’m spending 60 points on a model, I want the consistent powerhouse.

    Anyway, I hope you find that the multi rifle does it for you, and kudos for trying it out. Those have just been my experiences with the hsien.

    I absolutely love the multi rifle model.

    Main points are """"downgrading"""" the Garuda spitfire to a BSG, and turfing the Crane entirely to free up enough SWC to put an MSR and Spitfire in the CG link, making a CG the LT, and giving him a decoy. This way the link can get up to 5 man again if one of the heavy weapons eat shit. The most important ingredient of all has been added, the Rui Shi, who can also exploit the carpet of smoke this list is expected to lay.

    I would prefer to run this because I think 1.5 SWC on the Garuda is too much to stake on an AD roll, I like redundancy, and whatever stops the Hsien stops the Crane too. I like to have Kuang Shi on both order pools because we all know a Kuang Shi in the wrong place at the right time is the end of the enemy formation.
