Hello there, I have got a question concerning Crusade Fireteams (or other Fireteams that are stated in a similar way). Crusade Fireteams are defined in the following way: "Joan of Arc (any version) + 4 Knight Hospitallers" Though it is not stated "up to 4 Knight Hospitallers". Does this mean the whole Fireteam breaks if any one single unit from this Fireteam enters isolated or null state? Or is it meant to remain 4 members Fireteam when e.g. one Hospitaller dies? Thanks for every non-speculative answer in beforehead.
The fireteam is broken if the team leader enters isolated or null state. If another member is killed, it doesn't break. But once it breaks, you can't reform it until you have exactly Jeanne + 4 Knight Hospitallers.
That means you cannot reform the link (with Joan in it) if there are less than 4 full knights nearby (the Joan). CB apparently hated Joan link ;(
The restrictions you've quoted refer to the formation of the Fireteam. Once it is formed it follows the same rules as any other Core Fireteam. If you're super worried about losing the leader and the FT breaking there's always the EVO Hacker running Teampro.
It appears that the playtesters either suck at fighting against HI Fireteams or are just mind bogglingly good at playing with them. Possibly both. Because this nerf makes no sense.
Nonsense. With the removal of the Confrere Knights, and MO being the odd composition rules sectorial something else was needed to take it place. I applaud CB with stepping up and adding this bizarre and unnecessary restriction. Anything else would indicate that PanO is not the bumbling evil dude faction I know and love.
It shall be true. Military Orders certainly carry the burden of repentance for PanOceania's superiority. Well, at least for the unforgivable sin represented by the excellence of Varuna...
Just given how freakishly powerful and flexible the Varuna links are its infuriating to build MO links.
Maybe they thought it was mitigated by Santiagos being a wildcard? I dunno, I find it pretty hard to justify. MO seems like it's unfortunately going to go the way of a faction that is only effective in a limited set of missions/formats, which is unfortunate.
Playing Varuna make one totally unimpressed by MO. It ffeels like a puny & weak Sectorial, something that needs an urgent update, yet just received one...
The problem is it already had problems in certain scenarios. This only made the problem worse. We didnt even get the engineer QoL that our other sectorials got. MO is such a mess with spitfires still being the primary weapon of so many knights and competing with each other in links when the wildcard version easily outclasses its rivals.
I don't entirely agree. MO got a huge improvement. Yes, Varuna is a lot better for button-pushing, but Varuna is fragile. Hard to include more than 2 ORCs in Varuna, and I'm not sure I'd want to include more than Patsy for a mobile Kamau Haris anyways (ORC HMG or Feuerbach in the Core team optional).
Pretty much exactly THIS! MO already sucked in a lot of situations, unless you played very narrow lists. Totally removing those narrow lists and replacing them with hamstrung half-measures has made nothing better. This is only somewhat true. Varuna has visual modifiers coming out of its arse, while MO is begging and scraping to pull out any. That makes a big difference to survivability, making your point the finest kind of point. It is technically true. The BEST kind of true.
3 of our sectorials got unique engineer profiles of which currently two can integrate with fireteams. I expect that to become 3 when NCA gets its retouch in a future book. This meant they became bahg-mari, bolts or kamau engineers essentially. MO maintained its engineer getting a cute nickname and Jack all else.
NCA Machinist can already link with Bolts, you know? And I will never say that MO is worse now. Previously, we had only one really viable link and you had to play it or go to some kind one time unexpected lists that could be hard countered by a skilled player . It's a shame Joan link became harder to play but it was already something very rare to see on the table. You talk about Varuna. How is Varuna out of its DZ? Not very safe. A lone knight like the Montesa can annihilate the Haris team of Patsy alone in few orders, take the objective and go back to safety. Your Kamau sniper won't see all the table. Because MO can still have issues to make its core going out of its DZ, we were gifted in medium costed HI solo pieces that strike hard and are hard to remove to exploit the shadows of the table if MO is the underdog in term of long range firepower. Varuna may have more mimetism, MO still has access to the two best skirmisher hunters of the game and a good access to MSVs, a thing that Varuna can't say so much.
