Even just dropping a Link +3 BS is a pretty large drop IMO. Killing anyone in a 5 man link is a major hit in my books.

I dunno you can make some slick little lists.

@TheRedZealot Not a half bad list. Not really my thing, but sure, I guess you could stick all three things together.

I think you are confusing Jumper LX with Marionette. I am not seeing any such restriction. The Aspara activates for ARO purposes when a supported link does, but that is it. They can ARO or even go out hunting if needed.

GHOST: JUMPER LEVEL Z AUTOMATIC SKILL
    NFB, Optional
    REQUIREMENTS
    • Only those Remotes (REM) that are in a Fireteam and are in the same Combat Group as the trooper with this Special Skill can benefit from the ACTIVE PROXY LZ Marker.
    • A trooper cannot benefit from a Supportware program and from this Special Skill at the same time.
    • Each trooper with G: Jumper LZ can have a maximum of one ACTIVE PROXY LZ Marker on the table.
    EFFECTS
    • This Special Skill allows the user to place an ACTIVE PROXY LZ Marker next to a Fireteam that is in the same Combat Group and contains Remotes (REM).
    • The player will place the Marker next to the appropriate Team Leader Marker, during the Deployment Phase, when placing the G: Jumper LZ trooper on the table.
    • In both Active Turn and in Reactive Turns, each time that the player activates a Remote (REM) that is in a Fireteam with an ACTIVE PROXY LZ Marker, that Remote replaces the values of its CC, BS and WIPAttributes from its Trooper Profile with the ones from the G: Jumper LZ trooper.
    • Although, in the Reactive Turn, when an Order is declared within the LoF or ZoC of several Remotes in the same Fireteam, only one of them will benefit from the ACTIVE PROXY LZ Marker, chosen when declaring their ARO.
    • All Remotes in a Fireteam with the ACTIVE PROXY LZ Marker also gain the Number 2 Special Skill.
    • It is not compulsory that the Remote be the Team Leader of its Fireteam to benefit from the ACTIVE PROXY LZ Marker.
    • Each time that a Remote in a Fireteam with the ACTIVE PROXY LZ Marker is activated by an Order or an ARO, the G: Jumper LZ Trooper will also be activated, and will be considered to have declared Idle.
    • The player must remove the ACTIVE PROXY LZ Marker from the table at the end of the Order in which the G: Jumper LZ trooper enters Isolated or any Null state.
    • The player must remove the ACTIVE PROXY LZ Marker from the table when the Fireteam is cancelled.
    • The player may place the ACTIVE PROXY LZ Marker on the table again, by expending one Entire Order, with no Roll required. The Marker will be placed next to a Remote that is in a Fireteam in the same Combat Group that the G: Jumper LZ trooper is in.
The effects of the ACTIVE PROXY LZ Marker will be applied in subsequent Orders/AROs.

I'd swap one of the Minelayers for an MSR. Plenty of SWC to spare after all. Though finding the 7 points isn't easy

no, that's quite a downgrade, Naga MSR is very weak unit. (yes, sometimes it can work, but most of the time you won't be getting your points out of it).

@DukeofEarl You are correct, my mistake. I don't think it impacts my wider point of Apsara being perfectly acceptably costed, yet still boring as hell.

I did similar by swapping the Danavas for an Aspara and a paramedic for the same CSU.

No harm. Just wanted to keep people from making mistakes they don't have to.

I was thinking about the complaint about a lack of "Flash" for OperationS yesterday (not calling you out nemo, just idle thoughts while doing data entry). It seems that a large part of the complaint is connected to the greener grass everyone seems to be seeing all around this past year. Especially around the new rules that came with Tunguska.

Maybe part of the reason why we didn't get anything super exciting is because we already have one of the coolest rules in the game. Jumper L1. Despite it not being new, it is one of the most coveted rules by other factions.

Personally, I don't even need the new rules. I would've liked some old, old ones applied interestingly. What I would've liked is that they properly went with "top line biomorphs backed up with robots" feel. Specifically, I would've liked:
    • Dakini Core must include Deva (or I guess Shukra)
    • Dakini Haris must include Deva or Asura HD+
    • Garudas gain loadout with SuperJump instead of AD (especially on HMG)
    • Dakini gain Missile Launcher loadout
    • we get a Dakini variant with SatLock (meaning also Sensor and FO), and maybe FD L1. A Camo hunter. Maybe armed with one of the weaker or shorter ranged weapons?
    • Smoke somewhere. A Smoke LGL Dakini would be great in my opinion
    • Deva HD+ with 1 or 2 Devabot repeaters
I have this list ready for when I finally stop playing Asura Lt2 HD+:
    OSC Token

FWIW I don't even think G:jumper is very exciting. Basically its a neg trait (only 1 order, all poxies can only do very limited options as part of the same ARO, can't activite at once on active turn), BUT its hard to lose the order if you have net rods, and there is a huge point cost reduction.

Is being really cheap exciting? IMO no its not.

Proxies are bad @ss mofos because of high stats and a huge discount for what you get. If you think thats boring, they're boring. I'm even a little disappointed at their rules. But they are a strong entry that is for sure.

I can even agree with my nemisis on OSS @Nemo No Name that a lot of Aleph rules in general are somewhat boring. The faction as whole is an AI that creates better lhosts than human, not through any flash, but simply by having higher stats then the humans they are superior to. (I picture it in my head as something akin to blade runner replicants, they are just tough and strong, but outwardly resemble humans in pretty much all other aspects).

Aleph did miss out on the full auto train, which is cool, but they're not the only faction to miss out on that. I fully agree that full auto is an awesome and powerful rule, generally it is similar to + 1 burst and mimitism +). When you think about it like that its slightly less exciting. In a similar manner Lt 2, NCO, are kinda boring. Both share counter intelligence, though I thnk I prefer puppetmasters, I;ve learned to live without CoC, and rarely go into LoL). I probably prefer the G:Jumper LZ to Marionette. Getting an extra haris doesn't excite me, especially since it puts soo many points into a 1 wound LI that can't even ARO, whereas the Aspara's passive buff seems about as good (though also boring) but is significantly less likely to cause you to lose a big point investment if things go wrong.

Jumper is exciting because of the way you picture it. It's one ego, controlling multiple bodies simultaneously. Represented by one Order over 3 bodies. I used to play it all the time even when it was actually bad (N2 version). It was a bit more flavour then, but the simplicity now is appreciated. Even if it is cheap.

I guess that's kind of what I was leaning towards. The rules seem awesome until you put them on the table and then it isn't actually that big of a deal. But you aren't playing with their toys so you just see the new hotness and how it actually plays out.

But why? Dasyu lt has to deploy as a to marker or you're in LoL from game start, and there's no other reason in aleph to deploy your TO as a marker, so your opponent focuses it doen so you're in LoL. A single flame or shock hit/template will do. Granted, you can make it annoying to do, but not enough to be worthwhile.

Or you deploy the dasyu as a standard camo. With many nagas and minelayers, that's a lot of standard camo.

Then deploy your MK2 as a TO marker and really throw them off

The only thing that makes Asuras even playable is lt lv2.

They are *way* too expensive without the extra orders.

I'll admit that my bar might be lower. I'm not keen on the Greeks so played only Vedic before OSS dropped, so just a sectorial with fireteams and new stuff was what I wanted anyway.

That's what we want, balance is good. I don't think the concept of lists being "competitive" applies well in Infinity, it's more about you than your list.
I like OSS because it's what I wanted to play since I started Infinity, so not terribly fussed over the differences between sectorial and vanilla (beyond the inherent vanilla vs sectorial differences).
