Well, as a military man myself I have to add to that.
off-hand-shooting is definately a good skill to have, but your weapon has to be prepared for that (or you have to train abnormal handling) because of the ejection of shells ... not funny if you ever had a hot shell in your uniform
in airsoft -where the ejection of hot shells is not a problem you have to account for- it might be easy, but with real guns (that aren't single-shot or manual ejection shooters) you really have to mind your handling of the gun; i.e. train it.
maybe in the future all guns will be operating without shelled ammunition and the firing mechanism will be electric and so on, but since we only have real life experience with todays guns I thought I would add my two cents to the discussion.

(especially the lefty Kamau with combi from the Varuna starter would spray himself with hot shells if shooting in this pose ... in my opinion at least, which is only from pictures without handling the real minature tbh, but I just can't imagine it any other way)

As far as I am aware, only the Morats (who prefer to leave evidence of their work) and Ariadnans still use traditional ballistic casings. The rest of the weapons, including the PanO weapons use a gel type ammo which doesn't eject spent casings of any kind. So that shouldn't be a problem. Having served in the military myself however I can still only imagine how much extra training it would take to be capable of firing an assault rifle with your non dominant hand, with any sort of accuracy. One then could argue that (especially in the case of PanO) they have targeting assisted systems. Servo armor could very well be directly linked to their HUD and compensating accordingly.

To be honest though, I think it's mostly an artistic choice. If 90% of the models were right handed only, the collection of miniatures when set up would look more dull and less varied - and remember some of us are also collectors and/or use these exquisite models for dioramas or display pieces.

I think so many left handed miniatures is a result of design efficiency. The 3d artists often mirror arms / legs of one miniature to other and only make small reposing adjustments instead of building completely new poses. Looking at many new miniatures it becomes quite apparent.

Even Haqq use caseless ammo, they just don't use the special recoil modifications and targeting systems that make it a combo-rifle. Probably because they're unreliable on Bourak, whereas the Caseless Rifle + LSg does the job but with less concern for particulates, extreme heat etc.

I might not have been clear on my point ... sorry guys
    to clarify:
I just wanted to give an explanation for why the high rate of left-handed shooting looks odd to my -and others- eyes ... if a particular pose is not working based on my own experience, that feeling does not automatically change because of some "in the future" explanation
I'm all for variation in poses and weapon handling ... I just think -like others- that the disproportionately high rate of left handed shooting represented in CB minis looks odd, because of real life experience with guns (and spent casings).

Re-reading my post, that didn't come across (as some of it was seemingly left unsaid in my head for whatever reason :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

Preview of the IA starter pack.

Some nice looking models in there. I think IA is going to be a very pretty army on the table top.

I'll start the 'new release bingo card' though ;)

Bostria's static pose is a missed opportunity to hold the gun wrong. Now, I'll stop being a lazy post designer and copy-paste the video address so I know what I'm actually responding on.

    Bingo?

Now, to actually respond: seems like the Zuyong bois keeps on thwarting my efforts at rebasing them properly by manspreading. The Daoying's tactical rubble seems perfect height for placing on an Antenocitis urban base with curb stones on the other hand! Neat.

LOL @ that Smash reference. This game torments me as I cannot buy it until Christmas is over and I can confirm if I get it in a gift or not.

Fun fact, in medieval times Scotland had a higher than average number of left handed people, castle builders would sometimes have one tower with the spiral staircase going the anti-clockwise, to be manned by the lefty guards.

Shut up about lefties and complain that CB is literally incapable of making an AD unit not landing on tactical garbage.

As most of them only have one foot on the floor maybe it's done to provide something with a larger contact area to stick to the base?

Oh wait, I've got a bigger gripe. Who the hell thought that sculpting a line pattern on the camo parts was a good idea!? Now I get to putty and sand all that flat so I can paint actual camo. It'd be annoying but bearable if it was only on the cloth/thighpads, but the Haidao helmet looks unacceptable. Why yes, I would like my unit to have a blob for a face.

Which can be done by sculpting a small mound of dirt being pressed/moved by the soldier's boot. Same effect, looks way more reasonable than a drop trooper hating his legs and choosing the exact worst spot to land in.

Seriously, I've seen a comic strip mocking this when I started playing, and if anything the problem got worse.
