    Hi All,

Thought I'd post up a quick battle report while the game was still mostly fresh in my mind. I played a 300 points game with the mission: Engineering Deck

My list is from The Flashpulse's podcast discussion of OSS, and I felt it looked fun. Having never played aAlep or OSS I decided this would be a great way to try out a game with them.

It was a good game, right down to the final order!

My opponent and I rolled off and he won the WIP roll, I decided to run this LI list that I heard on one of the podcasts I listened too, so I'm affraid I don't remember credit, but I believe it could have been The Flashpulse's Podcst about OSS.

My opponent picked my side, and it was a very sparse table, so my side lacked a decent amount of cover to my DZ edge, I could really only deploy to about 8" with any kind of cover, and further back even to get my link team.

I decided to go first, which was probably the wrong choice, but I did anyway. He only had 8 models on the board, one of which was a camo marker which I assumed was a Zulu Cobra, and I turned out to be right, but it was not the profile I thought it was. I activated my Posthuman MK2 AHD but part of the way through realized he would just have a repeater to attack me.

I went around a peice of terrain instead to attack his Assault Hacker, and figured my higher WIP would help me. He attempted to discover me several times but failed. I then revealed and WIP attacked his hacker immobilizing him. He revealed a Croc Men AHD and shot me in the back, along with hitting me with a KHD Zulu Cobra which was the camo Marker I saw.

I ended up moving my Sophotect up wtihin a building and my Zenotech double walked and successfully dropped the marker. I then attempted to move my Sophotect out to WIP a console and got Flashpulsed.

I then attempted to KHD with the Naga his KH and failed my rolls. My Naga was hit with Double Trouble and I failed both saves. At this point I was basically out of orders and decided to put several models in suppression.

My opponents turn, he spent the first 4 orders trying to take my Proxy MK4 out. He ended up getting it into cover and moving his Haris of Kamau Haris, Kamau HMG and Machinist up to the Cutter LT and repairing the fire damage that only damaged the TO camo. The Haris team them moved up in a safer location. He attempted to WIP roll out of the immobilization but failed to. I believe he then just moved up further and ended his turn.

My second turn was relatively uneventful. I Continued moving my Sophotect up and managed to WIP a console putting me with one console and my opponent with none. I Decided to move my Dakini core out to get in a better position and act as a roadblock later in the game. This took quite a few orders and my final order for moving the link up, my opponent broke camo with his Cutter and took out the CSU who was the only one in LOS that activation. I ended up with my core covering the left side of the board outside of my DZ to slow down both the Cutter and Kamau Haris.

Second turn for my opponent involved him moving his Kamau Haris up and engaging my core. I got several successful saves with my Deva in the core, but by the end of his turn I had lost my entire Core, and had taken multiple hits but made all my armor saves on my Asura. The Proxy MK5 I had put in Suppression crit out the Kamau HMG and Combi profile neutralizing the risk from there.

My third turn I had 3 regular orders and 2 LT orders. I was not in Loss of LT due to the Asuras cost, so I had to make sure I optimized my movement. I double walked my Asura up to the central room but did not enter, and took no ARO's, I then Combine moved my remaining 3 troops; Sophotect, Proxy MK5, and Asura. I moved the Asura out of the way so she didn't get hit with splash from the Heavy Shotgun of the Peacemaker, or the Flame of the auxbot.

I passed all armor saves on the flame thrower the Sophotect took. The Proxy MK5 went into NWI and the Peacemaker was put into Unconcious level 1

I then spent my last LT order moving my Asura into the building into the corner, shooting at the Cutter as I passed in front of the door. He hit the Asura but I made my armor save.

My opponents turn three, he had 8 orders and moved his cutter up to try to take out the MK5 and Sophotect. I made lots of armor saves but in the end lost the Sophotect. The MK5 made 3 different armor saves but survived all the Initial Cutter attacks. My Asura in the meantime made all armor saves and won hacking attempt to try to Overlord, but my opponent made the saves. He then decided he was running out of orders and decided to take his Zulu Cobra KHD and wip the console, failed once, tried again, failed. At this point he had three orders left. He WIP the console with his Croc man successfully tieing our controlled consoles, He combine moved his Croc man + Cutter and finally took out my MK5 but couldn't displace the Asura who took 2 hits and was on NWI. His final order he took a chance to run up and get his Crocman into the building to neutralize my contesting, but I sucker-punched his Croc man and he went to dead.

The final result was Me: 6, Opponent: 1, as I got my Zenotech, No classified, controlled the same number of consoles, and controlled the objective room.

Great game, really came down to the last order.

I think OSS and Varuna are in really good spots, and are very diverse fun factions. There's lots of variation to list building to tailor to the needs of the missions, and while I haven't played OSS more than this, I can really see lots of options in the future for various missions. My goal over the next 3-6 months is to focus on OSS exclusively and really learn the inns and outs of the sectorial.

And the asura hacker lieut lvl 2 took your heart too, I guess :). Thanks for reporting, you may try sniper daikini instead of hmg daikini, my current core daikini team have 2 snipers.. it's damned good. I"m using few SWC cost for assault/press button team like asura hacker, mk2 hacker, mk5, CSU breaker and arjuna to compensate it.

Congratulations on your victory, and fighting through the loss of Orders! I'm glad the list served you well (and you're right, that was one of my appearances on FlashPulse).

The Order-resiliency of OperationS is one of my favorite aspects of the Sectorial. Well, besides the Ghost in the Shell aesthetic which got me into the game initially.

It looks like it was a fun, tense game. :)

The Asura Hacker LT2 is such a great piece, and I run her in the vast majority of my lists. I've been very happy with her. Defensive Core teams are pretty valuable, and I usually build them with a Sniper, Samekh, and Medic/Combi Dakini, and preferably a Deva Hacker of some variety if I can fit it.

My next step is to made a daikini core like you : 1 sniper + 1 samekh. Hacking support program and mk1 enginer are perfect combo.

Ahh this was your list? I liked the resiliency of it. The LT2 is super nice!
