I have a couple of questions regarding the Decoy skill that the Helot has:
    1) Do the decoy markers and/or miniature have 360 degrees fire arc?
    2) Do you need to Discover a Decoy first in order to shoot at it?
    3) Why isnt the Helot showing up in the courtesy list? When deployed with decoy it should be open information what trooper it is as well as which decoy markers belong to it, right?

Re:3 - They won't show up in the courtesy list because they have limited camouflage.

But they have either Limited camo OR Decoy, right? If so, when is this selected? During list composition or deployment?

    during deployment.

Additionally you cannot pretend to be anything but the specific Helot loadout you are wiht decoy, as such having them on the courtesy list isnt really required. They arent hiding anything and the person using them should divulge the information such as combat groups loadout ect anyway

    1) The all have the same arc of fire as the actual trooper, although they can be looking in different directions. There's nothing in Decoy that over-rides the basic 180º LoF rules.
    2) No, it's not a Camo marker etc.

Thanks! It was the following passage in the rules that got me to wonder if you needed to discover before shooting.
"To know if a Decoy is the user or just a mere replica, the enemy must pass a Discover Roll against that Decoy."

In exceptionally rare situations, you might want to make sure you're shooting the real trooper before firing - for example if you're using a weapon with limited ammo (Disposable Trait).

Discover and then Shoot in the same order is a valid declaration for extra chances at revealing them :)

Or if you have a trooper like a Shaolin Monk at 16"+, where your choice is between a pistol in the -6 range (effective BS3, burst 2) or discover (effective WIP 14).

Better to spread the Burst, so you ftf to all three markers... Discovering the real one while you shoot the decoys means eating an unopposed bullet XD

As decoy doesn't allow you to declare hold, an aro helot decoy can not end up shooting unopposed as first skill move, then helot declares shoot as aro, then you shoot the one that shot you.

I’m I missing something? Why are they not 3 decoy camo markers . Decoy says it replicates games state markers and one of cancellation bullet point talks about with a model /another marker state if decoy cancels

Because Varuna Helots have "CH: Limited Camouflage / Decoy" meaning you have to choose between Limited Camouflage and Decoy, you can't have both.

It took me a while to realise it, but it is because both hablities have the label Negative Feedback (NFB), so you can't use both at the same time.

Actually it is because of the / between the two skills.
Just like Tiger Soldiers have AD3 / Multiterrain

This writing means one or the other, not both.
