Okay I can't seem to find the original question, but what's the reason in the Profiles v4.2 for the crab bot being attached to the Seraph? Especially since it has an auxbot assigned to it. Can I deploy it like the auxbot? Or does it remain attached to the Seraph?
It's a remote pilot, when it dismounts the TAG becomes locked, but as the Crabbot is a specialist you can use it to complete objectives. Full rules: http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Remote_Pilot
And no, you can't put it on the table during deployment, the only way to get it off the TAG is to dismount it during the game.
Ninja'd They're not an add-on like the auxbot, they are the "pilot-specialist" adjunct to the TAG. CB gave the manned TAG pilots something to do in ITS a couple of seasons ago. They had their pilot/operators upgraded to specialists so they could do mission objectives/classifieds. PanO, Aleph and Combined had TAGs without physical pilots. This would have meant that PanO, Aleph and Combined armies would not have been able to do those objectives since all three use remote-operated TAGs (their pilots aren't in the machine, they're located elsewhere with real-time encrypted sensory links to them). So CB gave PanO TAGs the crab-bot (Aleph got the karkata unit and Combined got their own as well). The crabbot uses the "Remote Pilot" rules. ALL PanO TAGs use this rule (as none of their TAGs are "manned".) http://wiki.infinitythegame.com/en/Remote_Pilot
Thank you guys for giving me a helping hand. I have another question related to this. It seems to me that the only available crab-bot is with the Tech Bees. It's not a deal breaker or anything like that, and the bot is only needed if we disengage the pilot. I guess if it came down to it, I could always use the Tech Bee as a proxy for something that size.
Note that the answer regarding how Datatracker for TAGs are handled casts some doubt on my answer. The rules say (bold for emphasis): The user of this Special Skill does not have its own Order, but instead is activated by the same Order of its Controller, the trooper who has the G:Synchronized trooper as a BS Weapon option. A G: Synchronized trooper replicates the Orders performed by its Controller. This means that, no, activating the Crabbot will not activate the Auxbot.
Meh, bit crappy. It's not that big deal, but it would be just easier/cooler if Crabbot could do that. Similar how you cannot "hijack" enemy TAG with your pilot (Titanfall all the way).
