    Hey guys!

    quick question:

Asura hacker walks into the ZoC of a Ghazi with a jammer.
Ghazi responds with the jammer in ARO.
Asura wishes to hack the jammer.
    Is this a FtF roll?

    cheers

Spotlight (the only Hacking Program that can target the Ghazi) would be, but the -3 MOD is just going to increase the odds of your Asura getting Isolated. Which will also turn off her Hacking Device...

Because even though Jammer can isolate you it's not comms equipment thus Asura cannot use Blackout to turn off Ghazi Jammer.

and if the asura happens to walk around a corner in her first move and than takes aim, the jammer still counts as a BS attack so this should be face to face right?

Yes. Any roll by the Asura that can affect the Ghazi or the Ghazi's action in some way will be a Face to Face Roll.

With EVO, ASura making spotlight with WIP12 and reroll can be more profitable than WIP15 reset.
    Depends on ghazi roll.
And on active classified missions lol;)

Nah, just pointing it out before someone asks.

You know, questions about Jammer are among the ones being made in cycles.

Nah. It'd be nice if CB could address this.

Apart from not being relevant to the OP's question, what is there to be addressed? Jammers aren't Comms Equipment, so aren't targetable by things that target Comms Equipment.

To be clear, the only reason this is even a face to face is because the jammer would inflict a state that turns off the hacking device right?

No, it's got nothing to do with turning off the Hacking Device, just that it affects the target.

I believe it is face to face as a result of the Jammer making a BS attack requiring a roll against the hacker. Just as if a hacking target were to shoot back with a combi-rifle.

They should be though. The lack of counterplays to Jammers is basically the problem; basically everyone agrees they're a bad mechanical element in the game.

Why should they? It’s not an interaction the designers want. They've specifically kept Jammers outside of Comms Equipment, meaning they’ve the counters they want for them in the game.

Please keep this argument in the relevant thread. Right now we're just making it harder for the OP to get a clear answer.

I find it much more likely that it was ignorance that prevented the label from being applied to Jammers, and simple inertia preventing it from being applied later.

I’m fairly confident it was a conscious decision.
