I'm a vanilla player myself and I often play Heckler, Securitate, Interventor, Kriza, puppet master and I plan to use zondnaute and puppet in the future (and perseus in my next LI tournament).

So yes go for it, Tunguska in Vanilla is just as fun as Tunguska in Tunguska. Getting intruder for strong firepower, more SK and WB will be great.

Apologies for the misquote. I definitely agree with the double trios, and I've done that a few times myself across different factions with good results.

In general, I think "play what makes you happy, and don't worry about power level" is a pretty good rule of thumb, assuming you don't do something really silly like take no specialists in a non-killy mission.
