Painted up some StarCo in my Nomad colors here: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/further-nomad-wanderings.980/#post-169998
Look great. They have a strong anime theme with a lot of strong color choices. Normally, this wouldn't appeal to me, but the over all effect is very good.
Thanks to @mittenninja for organizing the Escalation League that got me off my butt to complete these. Thanks to MoonDoggie and @Section9 for the color advice My StarCo...(Except the Riot Grrl Missile Launcher less who I plum forgot to photograph...) I wanted Teal and Cream. I started with advice from MoonDoggie on color selection: Choose a color, and google up some sports team logos ... let some one else do the tough work. So I had Teal and Orange--but I didn't want Orange. I plugged it into https://www.sessions.edu/color-calculator/ to look for a split compliment, so Teal, Orange-brown, and an ugly red.. But these are gross. I want Teal and Cream. So I adjusted the color of the the orange brown to a light cream/sand shade and the ugly red down to a red-rust... Next, experiment with actual paints targeting different textures: Hard Green: VGC Turquoise mixed with Livery Green. Soft Green (pants for example): VGC Turquoise mixed up with VGC Dead Flesh. Hard Sand: VMA Rust (the dark rest) zenithally highlighted with VMA Sand (Ivory) You can see it all come together with my Tiger Solder/Spectre: The helmet as the "hard green" formula, while his pants are the "soft Green". The armor shows the undercoat of VMA rust. The Tiger Soldier is my Raul Spectre proxie. ...and some spare Nomands as Brawlers And finally the Irregulars. I also have an Al Hawwa from my Haqq collection..
That's My StarCo: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/my-fully-painted-starco.37105/ Managed it to get three... well if I'm honest 2 1/2 colour schemes into this army :)
