I did have some stuff on the old forum but this weekend I found my old miniature photo booth so I thought I'd give it a whirl and take some pics of my finished converted Infinity models. I love doing conversions and dislike proxies unless there's absolutely no choice. When I do conversions I stick to a couple of simple rules (note this is just how I plan my work and I don't hold other people to the same standard):

    1) The final result should never confuse an opponent, even unintentionally. Two similar-looking models should not be wildly different profiles, or vice versa.
    2) As close to 100% CB bits as possible. I've seen some weird Infinity conversions with people using bulky 40K plastic autocannons as HMGs etc and they really draw the eye, not in a good way.
    3) Weapons should be correct. If a specific weapon does not exist yet then as close an approximation as possible is permitted (ie spitfire to represent red fury).
    4) Pre- and post-CAD pieces should not be mixed. The scale is just a little off and in my own head-canon the older PanO sculpts are units that have been in the field and not yet been re-equipped with new style armour & weapons (and had their steroid-Os).

I'll start with my converted and fully painted models and then go from there. If I don't make much painting progress I'll start posting some unpainted stuff.

    List of conversions:

    1) Specialist Sergeant with combi rifle (TOFO) #1

We'll start with one of the first conversions I did, my attempt to get a more specific Order Sergeant TOFO model. It's nothing more than the TO sniper model with the head snipped and turned and a combi arm from one of the other sergeants in place. I had to put a fair bit of putty to round out the shoulder and to be honest I think it's a little too stretched to look realistic. My attempt to sculpt the specialist sergeant 'double shoulder pad' is a bit lacking as well. I do have a 2nd TOFO on the conversion conveyor which is a little better realised but we'll get to him in due course I guess.

hey Riquende, I've done myself a lot of conversions and I can say that you can mix some old and new CAD mini, but only for the women: the proportion is okay in most cases
I agree with your rules 1) and 3) as I use them myself
for the 2) I've used an Dark eldar blade as an nomad CC weapon and I think its looking okay for the Infinity universe but in most cases 40K bits is terribad I agree

Apologies for the lack of updates, just after starting this had a fairly serious illness in the family (all fine now) and life was a bit hectic for a while! To make up for the delay I'll just post everything else I've got painted today, then as it's a nice day I'll try to get a sneak preview group shot of what's on the workbench still.

    So first... Crocman with Combirifle.

Yes, it's a ridiculously simple conversion (all today's are just weapon swaps), but I didn't just snip the barrel down like I've seen elsewhere, I wanted to give the weapon the proper combi end so I took one from a Bolt and lined up the bodies of the guns.

Up next, Spitfire Deva. I really don't like the official model with the guy with his baggy pants so just snipped and tucked another Aleph gun on. It's a little weird that the gun has a magazine in the grip still but it's a small detail.

And third for today, Crusader Brother with Multi-rifle/Light Flamethrower. There's an official model now which looks great but a few years ago the MR/LFL profile looked like the profile to use, and I had a spare of exactly that from the Guarda de Assalto so just removed the end of the combirifle. It didn't line up brilliantly with the left arm and looking at it now my fudged putty job to make it work could have been better but it's served me well enough over the years regardless.

I glad to hear that you and your loved ones are alright. Serious illnesses are nothing to scoff at.
