With the Beyond Cold Front box on its way to us, I find myself trying to write lists with our beloved Yadu Character that allows her to run around with friends...

What have you all been running with her? What roles are you having your fireteams fill with her? I'm worried that I'm suffering from #modelsbeingreleased syndrome, and I'm just writing fireteams based around cool new released coming.

Some of the teams I've been looking at are:
    - Shakti + Rudra RF + Deva Spitfire

    - Shakti + Rudra Multi + Yadu FO

    - Shakti (non-lt) + Rudra Multi + Asura L2 (aka: the point sink)

    - Shakti + Rudra K1 + Deva (sensor) (aka: the polarizing squad)

I feel like I may be all over the place here - so you're help, as always, is much appreciated. I know it's comp will also be determined by other army factors (am I running a defensive or offensive link along side? what other specialists are being fielded? what mission am I playing?), but I would love to hear how this Haris has treated you in your games.

    Thanks!

I'd personally take the K1 Rudra with the Spitfire Deva for a little more versatility as the RF and Spitfire tend to overlap a bit.

I dont think Shakti + Deva Spitfire work well together because thier weapons work in the same range.

But thanks for the input. Havent thought much about rudra yet.

I like currently Shakti + Yadu HRL and either a 3rd Yadu or a Deva sensor or FO. The determinant there is how likely you think you are to get isolated or how much shock you think there will be. I hate when an odd guy in an team gets jammed or killer hacked by someones ARO and there is nothing I can do about it.
I have liked running a Rudra and Asura as solo attack pieces more then as fire team members.

Awesome, thanks! Are you using the K1 Rudra as a solo, or one of the other profile options? I've read that people do enjoy a solo climbing Rudra that has the option to go mine hunting.

As a side note - what model are you using to proxy a HRL Yadu?

I am using the K1 Rudra, I feel it is the best anti Tag in OS. The climb plus helps and I tend to try and get it to focus on tags and heavy infantry. I am not a fan of the other two options of guns but I can see the multi rifle as a possible but I have a hard time justifying the Red Fury over the K1 as the Red Furry has 1 more burst but can be filled by a lot of other roles. OS has very few anti Tag and anti arm 5 heavy infantry weapons and where I could try and beat my Asura into a Kriza that is not a fight I am enjoy (lets beat a rock with another rock) but the Rudra can often flank it or get to a go position with cover and the Kriza hates not having armor (except for cover) vs it.

I use Phoenix as my HRL Yadu and Eudoros for Shakti. If I ran a second HRL Yadu I would probably use the LRL and Feuerbach Thoraktiai for both to have visual consistency. I started as a Steel Phalanx Player.

So first: Shakti displaces the Haris Yadu (0.5 SWC in exchange for 3 extra points, yes please!)

Second, by December (when I expect NCO to be published officially): HMG Yadu + Shakti + Asura H+ multi Lt2

Until then... Mmmm... Rudra K1/Red Fury + Deva AHD + Shakti (hack at your peril!)

An option people seems to forget is the Samekh missile Launcher into "any" Fireteam (usually Dakini Core or a Yadu Haris).

Mk4 HRL > Yadu HRL any day of the week, unless you need range on a Core of Yadus :p

I feel they are Yadu HRL and Mk4 HRL are about the same:
They are both bs 13 and both have the equivalence of 2 wounds in most case (except vs viral). They both even cost the about the same if you go cheap on post human and sum the cost of the post humans which is how I think they should be looked at. A Mk 4 HRL with a MK 1 doctor is 35 pt and 2 swc where a Yadu HRL is 30 pt and 2 swc. The Yadu has less armor and ph but in this ITS has FD L1 and veteran L1.
The main thing is you have a choice here for you HRL platform, a Yadu or one of your 3 post human bodies. I tend to run a Mk 1, 2, and 5 for my post humans so if I want an HRL I go to the Yadu.

Well, that point of PH and that PB 9 / ARM 8 in cover for the MK4 are certainly more than interesting for the posthuman. Also, if she dies you won't lose the order.

Veteran + Courage Vs plain Courage means you will keep the Yadu's orders as regulars in LoL, but since I always have a use for the Posthuman's order, that is not an issue (both troops ignore the "Retreat!!!!" status, being able to perform complete orders).

They are the same, until you'll find they are not. For example, until you take some E/M weaponry on them. Or that you need to walk through some repeater. Or get caught by an AHD (said AHD can also be an AD).
So, in your meta, it may seems like yadu's feats are useless. It may not be the case in other metas. For example in my last game, my opponent, who is fond of Emily, started the very game by sending E/M grenades on my Lt and everything around him. This very opponent is also quite fond of hidden AHD, AD AHD (and many nasty AD tricks, from cheap yuan yuan swarm to expensive chirurgical strikes with tiger soldiers). And now he's starting to play Haqq...

So while yadus are definitely not op, they have their own unique features, and they have their role in some metas.

Just that HRL reactive role: Mk4 > Yadu.

BTW, a HRL Yadu is the only reactive piece with long range (aside from HMG Yadu, lol) that is not HI or Remote :S

So you are saying the yadu is the only long range reactive piece that is unaffected by isolation and unhackable, which was what i was trying to say in my post. If you don't see the point, you are blessed for having opponents that don't use AHD to shutdown annoying pieces.

Oh, no. It's just that I prefer them to spend the time and orders on the MK4, because a PB 9 (6 without cover) is good enough for me, and I always carry a Sophotect around (too many remotes and flesh, I'm afraid). I don't move the Mk4, frankly, unless she needs to inside of her perch. For assaulting I agree the Yadu is better, but for defense, the Mk4 is my choice.

Also, since I carry a Sophotect, I can also carry an mk5 and mk2. And since I also carry around my own KHD's or Dart, well, the AHD has to come to me. As long as they spend 3+ orders to disable the mk4, she has fulfilled her role admirably.

Plus I can get out of IMM-1 with just a Reset... WIP 15 BTS 6 platform? Anytime.

So, after some testing, I've found that I rarely get much use out of the Rudras when it's linked. It does its best work when it can climb around and get dem interesting angles on its targets - either with the K1 to make TAGs cry or the MULTI to mow down cheerleaders and deprive the enemy of orders. As such, I've mostly given up on including these guys in Shakti's Wild Ride. They do better on their own. Instead I find that it's better to have something that can get good firing mods in close quarters and cover the mid to long range shooting that she or whoever else you pair with her will be doing.

Despite being a huge pointsink, the Asura L2 is incredibly fun with her. She finally becomes the walking enemy deletion system she's always meant to be.

Naga & Dasyu are markers, and I see much more use for them in the Active turn. Also, more expensive than the mk4.

Mk2 is a great hunter (specially inside of White Noise), but I've seen it fall so many times against a single attack... plus Shock. Plus mk2 hacker is much more interesting for not Killy missions.

    I like Shakti alone.

She has everything she needs to work alone - decent BS, 3+ burst, good weapon, a marker state...

Any link raises her cost tremendously and adds very little to her capacity.

I find it's less about increasing her raw profile capacity and more about enhancing her squadmates.

This was something I was looking at before

    Open in Infinity Army

Mine Dispensers are brutal in the active turn. Combining a Mine Dispenser with a Sensor you can carry up the table with you allows you to completely dominate the midfield skirmishing and deal with often order intensive items to shift like camo markers prone on rooftops. The Sensor brings them out of marker state allowing the mine dispenser to lock them down. You can even have Dart climb up there and deal with them after if you want. Alternatively if you don't want to mess around with spec firing mines, the Rudras can just scoot up the wall after the Sensor pings them out of camo.

Yes, Shakti's tough enough she could probably go up there and root them out herself, and she's got a decent enough WIP to have a crack at it. But putting a Rudras and a Daleth in a group with her allows her to deal with them with a very low risk way.

The same goes for link teams, particularly the nasty aggressive core links that get in your face. Shakti could attempt to brute force them with her Mk12, but that's risky biscuits. Yes, the dice still favour you, but in Infinity just because the dice technically are in your favour, taking a 60-40 risk in the active turn with your main active turn piece is often not the best play when there's a slightly more order intensive but safer option.

It gets alot easier to pick off at least 1 guy though if you set up the attack by popping mines on top of the link first, then having Shakti pop out and try to gun one down. It forces some more difficult choices of shoot back or dodge to avoid tanking mine hits.

The other thing the Rudras is great at dealing with is the -3 vis MOD SF mode speedbump. Shakti alone shooting into something like a Guilang in cover in suppressive fire (or other annoying cheap junk like Foxtrots) is only a 37% chance she puts the Guilang down. Trying to brute force it is likely to be order intensive and not reliable at all, statistically if your dice don't crap out on a bad streak it'll cost 3 orders to shift that model.

It's 2 orders to pop a mine next to him, then shoot him. At which point your odds of landing a wound rocket up to roughly just shy of 90% if they elect to dodge when Shakti takes her shots at them.

Also minor advantage is you can use the Repeaters on the bots for Shakti to engage with, giving you the firewall bonus when engaging enemy hackers rather than using Shakti's own ZOC. It's an extra -3 MOD and +3 BTS.

    Shakti, HMG Yadu Asura Lt2

Five orders in the link, essentially. Excellent firepower and resilience, very good specialists, costs loads but is super cool.
