Dart : how and why ?

    I'm thinking of taking Dart in a tournament (with a strong midfield list with nagas mk2 hacker and mk5) but I'm a bit perplex on how to use her.

    So : how do you use dart ? Midfield or more rambo ?EM grenade or mine ? What do you do with her ?

    Just rambo. You can eat a mine and survive, you have a bs13 camo msv1smg so just kill kill kill your way across the table.

    This. Plus EM grenades, they are great with her high PH and it gives her another tool against high armour units, and if you also take Nagas they already bring mines anyways.

    She's an attack piece so attack with her. Not much more than that to say really, either use her msv1 as an anti-skirmisher if you're up against other camo heavy lists or just plow orders into her and get killing stuff in close range

    A1: Camo marker tricker, with x2 nagas (Khd+Minelayer) in a "medium" camo list in OSS, supporting adds; Andromeda, Mk2 hacker, Arjuna (all in OSS, she is the perfect role to do this here).
    A2: mixed options, clearing the menaces in the midfield covering the all nagas+Andromeda or mk's 2 AHD/mk5 FO. Also as Rambo piece against... heavy order list and light profiles especially.
    A3: EM grenades for sure, you can go with Naga Minelayer for that reason; Dart + Naga + Mine = 3 camo markers, and plus more nagas if you want... EM grenades are awesome on her, if you switch her on midfield role for cleaning and covering your specialist, use the spec firing on 10s on enemy camo markers and forcing to reveal all of them... then, go to clean them. Also very good weapon against HI/REM/TAG... with same plan on spec. firing.
    A4: Personally, i just run her on a heavy or medium camo list on OSS without fireteams options, or just playing her with Andormeda together, 2 awesome rambo pieces here in OSS to start the first turn. If you burns a some orders on Andromeda in one group, and you want to save for example the dakinis for a late games, expend all orders on Dart's group to do more damage as possible; hunting the specs, mid infiltrators specs, nice active attack piece on short ranges and great resilence against shock ammo and viral efects with that bioinmunty... she isn't cheap, but with a lot of sinergie added on her, she works very fine with any midfield profile but dosen't much sense to play her as "solo" cammo and only midfield option in OSS... Aleph vanilla, can do some job task before launching Achilles or other heavy profiles.

    Always use the EMP profile. Having EMP grenades is just fantastic, and she can already deal with the targets a mine would be good against on her own.

    Use her to clear out skirmishers first, then to go do backfield hunting. She is one of the best anti-skirmishers in the game. If she lives through your turn and you save two orders you can finish the turn with her prone in a rooftop, in suppressive fire. Thats a place that few units can reach.

    I like the idea of taking her into matchups like ariadna . She ignores mines ariadna loves to drop better than most and can win ftf fights with ariadnas midfield too

    Is the Dart model ever going to be for sale, or was it a gencon exclusive and I'll have to pay $80+ to buy one off ebay?

    The specific Gen Con model was exclusive.

    There might be a general release one on the future, and there is the Aristeia version in the Human Fate expansion which is the correct scale but needs to be rebased as it comes on a 30mm.

    CB has always released a general release of the gencon mini within a year, normally sooner.

    They haven't announced the general release versonof dart yet. Normally the general release verson has different arms.

    At a fair I was told, the general release Dart will have a PanO look. The exclusive version and Aristeia! have an ALEPH-design.

    Let's see.

    The general release is definitely going to be more different than previous LE to General releases. Dart's right armour is part of her main body and will look weird in pretty much any other position.

    I use her in Acontecimento, but it's not that different from ALEPH because I use 2 Nagas everytime.:stuck_out_tongue:

    She's a hunter-killer: use her to go straight to your prey and kill it. NWI+Bioimmunity is the key, she won't die from a mere crit or a mine. And don't hesitate to recamo if needed.

    There is virtually nothing she can't deal with: LI and MI with SMG (shock or AP), HI and even TAGs with SMG (AP) or E/M Grenades. The bow is more an ARO weapon, but she really needs to be hidden and camo'ed in the reactive turn.

    My only concern with Dart is that she cannot be the Datatracker...

    She's a really great platform for exploiting Climbing Plus too. Camo Marker, mines, effective 2 Wounds, not hackable, good Ph, a bit of BTS, and up to 4 different kinds of potent ammo type means she's really hard to dislodge from the top of a building, and capable of storming almost any opponent who is on top of a building.

    In a step by step way... sorry but im a bit dumb :p how would she deal with a skirmishers midfield? Lets say you have a camo marker nearby or at the other side of a building and you are not doing a spec fire.

    Do you move+discover? How do you do it?

    I know the question looks a bit weird... But i read alot on how good it is, that it has MSV2 but it still eludes me, because either you discover+shoot, which mean you need to first have LOS to the target, or the only other option is to move+discover but you don't know how the target will react, he can dodge or shoot you back and you'll be at a disadvantage..

    Really, what is the approach to this?

    If the target can ARO, it MUST declare it's ARO after the first move, unless it has six sense. So the right order would be:
    1. you declare your first short skill: move
    2. if the camo marker has an ARO, it must either declare it or lose it. If it declares something, it will then reveal
    3. if the camo didnt declared anything, you can now safely declare discover. If it declared something, you can now declare shoot on it, and it will resolved as usual (probably with a face to face)
    Be careful that the camo may try a suicide ARO and declare something like laying a mine, which may be a problem for some expensive, NWI and low PHY troops like the MSV-2 deva.

    It may be usual to declare both short skills at the same time (ie: "i'll move-shoot on this troop here"). When playing with my friends we often do that when the situation is simple, and if that's not the case we correct the other player by saying "no, you declare move for now, i have something to declare". But the correct order is first short skill, opponent's ARO, then second short skill. The only two cases when the opponent can declare an ARO after your 2 short skills are:
    1. if he has something that allows him to declare ARO after your (like six sense or white hacking device)
    2. he couldn't declare an ARO after your first skill but could after the second (ex: you did move-move and only your second move allowed him to have los on your troop)
