The rules for AD level 1 and 2 state you pick a segment on the table and deploy from the edge of the table in the chosen segment. Now say I'm deploying a Hakim from a segment on my opponent's side of the table. Am I allowed to measure the deployment zone of my opponent? And if not, what happens if I misjudge and partially place the base in the opponent's DZ? I wasn't really able to find the rules for this on the wiki.
I would say it's impossible to play without measuring the zone. The zone is, after all, known from the deployment phase
even though it is known at the deployment phase, you are not allowed to measure it during the game until the end of the turn in which you check to see if you dominate the quadrant/zone or not. But i do make an exception for AD as it is impossible to play without measuring it on the Order it is dropped. (well, to the extreme, you could ask that you guess where he drops, then you measure DZ at end of order and if out of range convert to an Idle or convert to a failed AD as you tried to enter where you couldn't... but that is far fetch.)
On the other hand, you can probably determine where you’re not supposed to be with a minimum of measuring—just mark the two edge points of each player’s deployment zone.
