In what way? design? conceptually? personal taste? real life utility? Personally Montesa on bikes makes some sense given the terrain they specialise and the units they support, if nothing else the concept of a dragoon is old and tested.
it's a very PanO thing to do, to not only get something after everyone else does – but to overdo it as well. ARM 3, W 2, bikes yes please!
I thought we were told no bikes in pano ever. Im also wondering how exactly they'll change montesa to fit their role
Remember: we're told no smoke in PanO. We were told no bikes for Nomads or PanO--but anyone expecting that to hold up was deluding themselves once USARF had two units shoved in there.
It makes 0 sense conceptually, design, real life utility, or the Sectorial it's being placed into. Also, bringing up dragoons is laughable. They were a unit concept that failed miserably in wooded terrain(aka: what Montesa were supposed to be specialized in, hence their inclusion for Shock Army).
Yeah, them too. Ariadna, Haqq, Nomads. I mean, there's also Penthesilea and JSA, and it's fine. Not everyone should have everything. I'm just glad they didn't try to stick bikes into OS.
I can't find any background for Montesans being specialised on wooded terrain. And their APCs wouldn't be much use there either.
Because, of course, we’ve seen exactly what the bikes will look like, and what their profile will be... could be something with Multiterrain, like a fast, mobile hover bike.
So then why is Storm bringing up them being specialized in certain terrain or supporting units? Why are you not calling him out? It was his post to begin with. Additionally, APCs are far more useful than you seem to believe for wooded terrain. More than some motorcycle would be.
Oh so we can get hover bikes in PanO but we can't get Mine Dispensers on TAGs or Remotes? We can get hover bikes but a Seraph's Auxbot can't Super Jump?
Acontecimento is indeed heavily forested and Montesas are supposed to work with the other mobile elements of the force, namely the TAGs bikes makes much more sense than their APC/ AFV. I would argue the dragoons concept historical failure is more because of the commanders and their inability to grasp its potential and train their troops to its usage usage than the concept itself, in the few historical cases it was properly used it was a strong element of victory. In any case Montesas got bikes, some people will not like it some will really like it, their design and model will look great because it is CB after all. Now please tell me anybody used any montesa except the SF? even by proxy? before the announcement?
LGL and LRL, those two are worth every point. Would be really nice to see the Combi replaced, though. edit: Mine Dispensers are a new addition and we might yet see it on some profiles, especially with the incoming reworks. Same goes for that Auxbot.
Ummm, yeah, of that fits what the design team wants for the army, yes, we can. However, if it doesn’t fit the design, why would they have it in the army?
