So what are everyone's thoughts on the first Post-Human character to be revealed by CB? Here's what we know about Dart's fluff from the Store (via Google Translate) "Dart is the rich heiress of a business conglomerate specialized in the manufacture of biochemical compounds. Her passion and dedication to extreme sports led her to present herself as the icon of her own company, Aura Biochemicals, in Aristeia! There she enjoyed the challenge of hunting down the best aristos of the Human Sphere. She got more glory and fame than she could have ever imagined and ALEPH offered to become Posthuman. Bored of Aristeia! She accepted a position in the Optimates, the group of Posthumans that works hand in hand with the SSS, and since then she has once again enjoyed hunting aliens from the Combined Army in the jungles of Paradiso." Liking the mention of the Optimates - perhaps we will see more Post Human characters in the future? For my money, the most interesting thing is that Dart compared to the Vanilla Posthuman is that she has no proxies and has a cube (and only a WIP of 13 vs vanilla Posthuman's 15). Perhaps Dart is new to her Posthuman ascendancy compared to the more experienced Vanilla Posthumans and their Wip 15 proxies? Another thing is that Dart is a rich heiress who used her resources to become an Aristea star. One of my theories is that Aleph is strategically making influential/well-connected individuals Posthumans, tying their immortality to its own wellbeing - as part of a subversive way to gain power and influence in the Human Sphere.
Personally i think that it's simply a first step towards helping the human evolution rather than a subversive powergrab on Aleph's side. She has to start somewhere and the process isn't cheap (Found that out in the RPG). Pair that with the fact that society usually leans towards the exceptionally wealthy tending to get new shiny toys first and we got a good reason why someone like Dart would be an early candidate. I also imagine Aleph want the most exceptional and talented people she can get, and as a successful veteran aristos Dart certainly qualifies.
This is Nomad propaganda, please present yourself to the Aspect Control Center for immediate update Aleph is not trying to gain power and influence, it protects people who can be an asset to the human sphere for the betterment of all humankind
I'd say she is, mechanically, a victim of her capabilities. If she were to have Jumper, she would be around the Mk5 role but costing abou 18 points or so... and she would be nuts, frankly (since she is in the middle of the mk5 and the mk2 hacker in deployment, camuflaje, etc...). Truth be told, ingame she is a Posthuman only in name, otherwise being a normal character.
Yeah I guess the difference of being equipped with a cube and downloading into Lhost bodies (or the Hollow Men) is just a structural different to a post human. So it doesn't make much of a difference to other characters, except being also part of the whole Aleph agenda/structure.
My guess is that the lack of Proxies is simply a mechanical thing, and that the lower WIP is an indication of how her role differs from the other Posthumans we seen in the game. She's not a specialist operative. She's not there to hack, or doctor, or engineer, or push buttons. She was picked out by ALEPH for her ability as a hunter. Dart isn't a polymath who distinguished herself in multiple intellectual fields, she's a rich heiress with a knack for shooting things.
Maybe she simply has yet to shed her mortal shell to exist purely as a net entity. After all she's a peerless huntress and a famous aristos, she probably enjoy the physicality very much, and so lack the detachment other posthumans might have (and is probably required to treat bodies as remotely controled tools rather than your mortal coil)
She might also be making a persinal choice to only use one body at a time. Would be too easy if she could just solo ambush and kill things. I could also see her using multiple bodies, just not at the same time. Run an operation on a planets surface while also assisting an assault on a space platform. She'd embrace the challenge. If it was Star Wars she'd be Luke, Hans and Leto all attacking the death star/moon base at the same time.
