William Wallace or another similar character lieutenant joins a fireteam as the link leader and rushes up the field. A heckler jammer hiding behind a building hits him with a jammer and isolates him. In season 10, all characters are veterans. What happens now? Strictly RAW: Wallace completely ignores all effects of isolated as per veteran, stays green, can use any orders, remains within the linkteam, stays as the link leader, and even remains the lieutenant. This doesn't feel right.
Characters gain the Troop Classification of Veteran Troop. Although it has a similar name, this has no connection to the Veteran Special Skill - it just lets the character perform Classifieds that require a Veteran Troop and to gain extra weapons in Hunting Party.
Sadly Wallace can be isolated. Even if in situation where his communicator is jammed, he would simply scream orders across the battlefield.
Spoiler: Veteran troop classification LONG SERVICE During Season 10 any troop whose Troop Classification is listed as ‘Character’ also have the Troop Classification of Veteran Troop. Veteran profiles on the classification troops on the Infinity Army, not are including the Veteran1/2 skill, isn't the same. Just the veteran characters buffs as a veteran troops classification, only added to including ADSHL weapon for free on hunting party mission for example. And this are the Veteran 1 skill. Spoiler: Veteran 1 skill VETERAN LEVEL 1 VETERAN LEVEL 1 AUTOMATIC SKILL Optional. REQUIREMENTS EFFECTS If the user's army enters a Loss of Lieutenant situation, the user remains Regular. If the user's army enters a Retreat! situation, the user remains Regular and is not affected by the Retreat! state, acting normally until the end of the game. The user ignores all the Isolated state effects (caused by E/M Special Ammunition, the Oblivion Hacking Program, scenario special rules, etc.). Veteran L1 Summary During the game, the user always remains Regular and not affected by Retreat! state. Wallace dosen't have this, he have Inspiring Leadership.
In a similar question, a Morat Vanguard Infantry acting as an MAF lieutenant and link-leader gets isolated by a jammer. Does he stay the lieutenant/link-leader?
Morats can't be isolated bcs they have veteran 1 rule added, so the links works fine and can't be broken. In the case of the hungries team (Oznat+gaki/preta) can be isolated the hungries but not the Oznat.
