Do puppetbots get to apply fireteam bonuses in vanilla?

They don't need to be in a fireteam to activate as a group, that's covered by the marionette rules. In TJC, it's clear that they get up to haris bonuses.

    For vanilla, the rules state:
    • The members of a Troupe will apply the rules for a Fireteam: Core of two or three members, depending on their number.
Here it seems there's agreement that they are a functional fireteam, vulnerable to exile, etc. So on FT core rules state:
Which applies even if you selectively start at "bonuses of duo," which states:
"This Level applies the basic rules of Fireteams, granting no additional bonus," i.e., the above.

In short, it reads to me that they only get the +1B in TJC. Is that accurate?

A less "refers to other rules" rule would be nice. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Why not just say, "a troupe with three g:marionette units in a non-disconnected state get +1B. This bonus applies to the troupe leader in the active turn and all troupe members in the reactive turn"

This is because the unit still must adhere to Fireteam rules such as coherency, same ARO or kicked, etc. You left out the most important part of the Fireteam rule. Emphasis mine:

To use this rule, a player must field a Sectorial Army List, an Army List that specifies that Fireteams are available, or have a Special Skill, piece of Equipment or Hacking Program that allows its use.

TeamPro, clearly meeting "special skill" criteria states it outright:
Marionette lacks this language. I agree that the intention seems to be for g:m to be used as a quasi-fireteam in vanilla, just trying to nail down the mechanics of it.

That wrote @inane.imp befor. For me, all your question were none.
And, don't take it serious, a forum is no "do the work for me" thing :beers:

I can see the confusion, but to be clear G:Marionette Troupes are not a "Fireteam". They apply the rules of a Fireteam, but are not a Fireteam. They count as a "Troupe" with a "Troupe Leader". Essentially you treat them in all aspects as a Fireteam without actually being a Fireteam.

And that's a big deal with respect to the way the rules are written. CB implemented a whole new set of terminology here, apparently because they wanted this to work in non-sectorial armies.

But brevity and clarity are not hallmarks of CB's rules writing.

Nevertheless, the answer is unambiguously that G: Marionette works in vanilla army lists.
