    And now something completely different

    IMG_3270.jpg IMG_3274.jpg IMG_3277.jpg IMG_3279.jpg

As you might have guessed, with the arrival of Operation Coldfront I'll also start with Aleph, and this is the first test for the color scheme. He's not the best example, because I think it'll work best on armor, but I matched the colors I wanted a 100%. What do you think?

Following many requests, I'm working on an article how to create color schemes right now. I'll open a new tread for it. I hope I can give some insights of how I develop my schemes. So look out.

First – I hope so. Maybe due to new job opportunities I won't be able to paint as often, but I'd like to keep the flow steady.

Second – Thanks! Painting faces is my thing, I love it the most. Right now I startet painting a mini for a competition, and maybe this could be my best face I've ever painted.

Third – As I remember the containers are made by Antenocitis Workshop. We have them in our terrain shelves at our club, where I usually take the photos.

I wonder if water effects/kristal klear/varnish could help or destroy it completly.

I don't like gloss varnish etc. because you can't control the refelctions. That's the same reason I prefer Non Metallic Metal.

But your idea with the water effects is worth a try, perhaps when I paint another CSU ...

Water effects are like varnish, just with different flow properties. The idea was to make the glasses have "volume" and shine.

BTW, I remembered some brands have removable varnish. Just in case you want to try and if not happy with the look, be able to get rid of the blob. without having to scrape everything

I helped a friend using water effects by Vallejo, and your right, it has different flow properties and doesn't lose much volume compared to varnish. So your idea is really compelling, thanks for that. I really think I will paint a second CSU and will try it out.

    Removable varnish? Interesting ...

The green...I'm not sure about that particular combination. Seems like Acontecimento scheme plus chocolate. But you are the magician of colour, go ahead if that's what you want ;)

Look in art shops (W&N, Vallejo art not model, Daler-Rowney...). Some are removable with generic things, others have a custom remover (W&N bottled ones seem to be like that).

The idea of the green was for the technicals and some glowing effects, This is one point when I said that this miniature is not quite the best example. I bought the new Post Humans, and I will try the colours on the Heavy Infantry next, then we will see. Also the green has to be in less quantities.

Funny thing is that what appears to be a brownish hue is a violet. That's an example how colours appear different when in contrast with other hues.
