Sigh. Naga AHD costs 32 point and does pretty much everything Yadu E/Marat, Drop Bear profile does, only better since it can threaten HI links outside LoF, do objectives, and has access to Camo state. Sure, doesn't have the ammo types of a MULTI Rifle nor quite the durability, but effective durability I'd call higher due to camo state and modifiers. All the other advantages of Naga far outweigh any minor bonuses Yadu provides.

Alternatively, Rudras bring a tougher package, with Mine Dispenser (better rangebands, equal chance of success), MULTI Rifle, tougher package, provide Repeater network, much better mobility.

I'm not complaining they are not Viral-immune, I'm just saying, it is a vulnerability. I would grade it as roughly on par to immunity to E/M. There is some E/M weaponry, but not that much and quite limited in availability (despite their increase). In future, when everyone and their grandmother is toting E/M weaponry, then we can talk.

As for price, I'm sorry, but thats too much for my armies. I have far better options to include at these prices, such as Nagas and Dasyus to provide support, obstacles, and midfield specialists, or just multiple REMs for every Yadu to provide and heavy weaponry.

I agree on your second sentence, but I strongly disagree with first sentence. So far, these are the Lts I play:
    Machaon
    Asura Hacker Lt
    Marut
    Deva

While once in a blue moon I will not be in position to use Lt order with first two, Marut has Strategos so it's like everyone has NCO, and finally that leaves Deva Lt as the only one I can see using NCO with.

First of all, BS13 no-mods MULTI Rifle is a bad gunfighter in the current game when you factor in cost.
BS13 no-mods HMG is a bit more useful, but honestly, at 41 points? 1 point more gives me 2 full Dakini HMGs.

First of all, MI has exactly 0 meaning in the current game. Unless they introduce MI-only rules, that designation means nothing. They could've called it LI or SK or WB and absolutely nothing would have changed. At this moment, this game has 4 groups: TAG, REM, HI, Others.

And MOV 4-4 is the average in this game. Some troops have 4-2, vast majority have 4-4, and others are faster. Or have access to movement skills (Superjump, Climbing Plus). Not to mention all the skills for deploying outside the deployment zone. None of which they have.

I don't disagree that Rudras come with a bunch of disadvantages. However, Repeater and 6-4 MOV with Climbing Plus makes them much more useable than Yadus, both by themselves and as a support tool for rest of the list.

I see that we can go into long discussion about Yadu's value, and it really should go into Yadu thread.

For now I think it boils down to meta and personal style. Yadu don't fit into the way you play Aleph, which is perfectly fine. I don't plan to argue with it. But translating this subjective experience into objective evaluation is impossible.

Yeah, we get that you dislike Yadus, but the things you value or dismiss are not the same things that other players value or dismiss.

So no, the Yadu is not an objectively bad unit, it's just a bad unit for your play style.

In particular, Nagas are more durable? Yeah, right up until they get hit by a DTW and have to activate Dogged and die later that turn, or a Mine and simply die.

I think we ment that Camo gives quite a excellent protection (untill you volunerly walk or you are made to walking into the mine).

I might be very wrong but I think Yadu's strength should be mostly evaluated from the link team perspective (with Dakinis or Devas) rather than a solo operators (where usually Camo units win, as Camo state is one of the best rules to have).

Sorry, I know I'm annoying, but I'm still sore about getting 2 new units (Yadu and Shukra) that could've easily been Deva weapon(+skill) options. Thus both increasing the appeal of Devas and freeing new unit slots for more interesting and complimentary profiles.

I'd even settle for 1 new different unit and more Deva options instead.

I'm just gonna try and tune out any mention of Yadus from now on...

I agree for the danava and the shukra, who should have been devas, but not for the yadu who fill another role: a sturdier shock troop made for pure fighting.

Not to mention, that if the Devas will be made linkable they'll definitely need more options. I certainly can see more loadouts incoming.

Sometimes I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Up is down, left is right, north is south, and noone likes the 4-4 MOV, drop bear throwing, E/M templating, MULTI ammo slinging 2-Wounder who can't be isolated or hacked.

What is happening. Please, I hope noone in Vedic takes these or Rudra. That way I can deploy 3 or 4 antipersonnel mines and maybe an Assault Hacker, and stop the entire Vedic Army from doing anything. Sounds great.

It's like the "Yadu are just fancy Bolts" argument, quite baffling to me as well!

I was just shocked to read that assult hacker nagas we're better than Yadu. It's refreshing to see someone say assualt hackers are useful, seeing as killer hackers are everwhever, and coincidentally don't do much to Yadu...

I like both tools, though personally find it harder to include non-post human assult hackers in lists...

Edit: and upon further consideration, emarats can do many things assult hackers cannot, such as inflict Imm 2 instead of 1 on hackable targets, or isolate non hackable rambos, such as Myrmidons, tiger soldiers, fraacta, ko Dali, speculo, fidays, or tohaa anything...

I'm not being funny but I cannot imagine looking at the Yadu and thinking "eh."The Yadu is a totally fucking awesome multi-capable combat trooper. V: NWI and Shock Immunity? ARM and BTS 3 with 4-4 without being hackable? A MULTI Rifle, BS 13, very relevant template attack (as in, ices Su-Jians with a single shot relevant) and Drop Bears and that's the basic line loadout? Since when did any of these stop being desirable things?

A Haris alone of these guys is a multi-role hacking, CQB, close assault, heavy ranged firepower and roadblock force. If they get core, or can go in cores, they'll be horrific.

To me so far, the one overarching aspect of OperationS is versatility in the new units. Covering range bands and situations with a multitude of options on a number of units probably means it will be a little tough to get the initial handle on them, but once you have all those choices committed you should be in a really strong position no matter what you end up facing. I can see bringing a REM heavy list and a Deva/Yadu focused list for tournaments and being able to drop either one down for any mission and focusing more on your opponent match up.

This reminds me of all the nomads threads where people look down on Corregidor.

My reaction: Yes, less people will play that sectorial. SWEET!!!

Same reaction to the Yadu being oddly undervalued by some. I mean, seriously? Do you face Haqq and their dirt cheap Ghazi jammers? Yadu is an easy hard counter.
