Hi! While I'm waiting for TAK I'm going to play vanilla Ariadna but only with TAK choices, good training I guess What are the good choices for ARO pieces? I'm thinking warcors, strelock, ambush camo markers, redjack? And then? If i go first I can use suppressive fire, but when I go second?
So a Tankhunter ML for early turns ARO and a Tankhunter AC for early turns active killing and later turns ARO (see my other thread)?
The ojotnik is dam14 and a dangerous shot with a +3 range band out to 32. Like the autocannon it acts as a mid to late game aro once most of the b4 is dead
The Spetsnaz Sniper is a devastating ARO unit against 1 W models and you can play nice mind games with his Ambush Camo. The Ojotnik is very decent because you are basically always in the +3 range band if you deploy smartly close to the middle of the board. Dog Warriors are surprisingly good at close range defense as well because they can risk eating a full burst of Combi Rifle or Shotgun shooting while fighting back with their Chain Rifles (or just throw smoke). I'm not so fond of the Tankhunter Missile Launcher though. Setting him up to generate AROs in his good range band can be very hard, depending on the table setup. I'd rather pick the Tankhunter Autocannon in most cases. But YMMV here. Once all profiles are avaible the Strelok will probably be my first choice for defensive duty though. 3 Camo markers, a template weapon, a smg and mines for 20 points ist just obscene. Some Flamethrowers for close defense would be nice, but you can't have everything I guess. That's also the reason why I believe that Vanilla will still be ahead in terms of board dominance.
For ARO's my Tankhunter Autocannon has never really let me down, Spetznaz HMG and Sniper version have also taught my opponents to stay hidden...
