So at gen con they announced a resculpt of the Haqq Remotes. While I think the chicken walkers were a little off for Infinity, i found they grew on me overtime because they were distinct in Infinity. The new ones do look nice, but they are a little generic for infinity. I was hoping for Mini-Maggies. They obviously tried to keep them similar to the Kameels. I do like the weapon attachments. They actually look like they are supposed to. I know its just the drawing, and not even the 3d render, but I do hope they keep it the HMG looking that way.
Hmm... They ARE mini Maggies ;) The armour on legs, the "head" and having the guns on the tail - it all looks like Maggie. For me they are a nice way to fit into new look of Haqqislam mechanized units - not to close to Maghariba, but close enough. And as I wanted the resculpts to be similar to Maggie, I'm rather happy with the result. I have 3 chickenbots (thankfully still waiting for conversions), and surely will buy the new ones. Maybe the Chickens will be my DRuZE REMs, after small conversions. The new Shihab and Shaytaniyah look great. The only thing I don't like is the normal, infantry rifle + light shotgun mounted on the Rafiq, it's rather odd, especially with the magazine. How does the REM change it? :D I'm also interested if they will fit into S3 base - the legs looks rather not small, like in Kameels. PozdRawiam / Greetings
They look a little generic for my tastes particularly as I also play Nomads and have remotes for days (so many). Fortunately, I own 4 chickenbots which I really like and remind me of pod-mechs from Robotech, so I'll keep using the originals. But to each their own.
I love them. Finally I can have proper Haqq Remotes after a long wait. They also look similar to Maggy for me which I like and the magazine on the rifle will be replaced by a belt feed, so that it makes some sense. If they are easy to assemble to, they get a very big thumbs up from me.
Myself, I'm a bit sorry to see them now, rather than a year or two ago when I was persuading to get into Chickenbots (but I eventually did). So, while I like the new REMs, I'm staying with Chickenbots. Still need one box more :P
1) Mine are already in my DBS colors. I rarly play remotes in Haqq so I converted them. 2) I guess they do look a little like mini-maggies, but I was hoping for more of a tail mounted weapons when I was looking for mini-maggies. Something more distinctive. At this point I'm still in undecided if I want to grab them. I already have 4 chicke walkers in Druze Colours My Haqq force doesn't really use remotes. if the box comes with 2 HMG bits I would pick it up so I can have a proper TR HMG in both my Haqq and DBS colours.
I keep getting the feeling that we actually saw the dossier a while ago but forgot about it. Any who, I like them and I will be buying a box as soon as I can. I was going to use the old ones for objectives but now I might save them for a NA2 faction.
I never bought the old remotes, so these look great to me. Too often I bought the old model only to a new sculpt weeks later, but this time I waited long enough! They look enough like mini Maggies to me, at least smaller cousins. I suspect they'll see play in my RTF and they'll give us a strong visual identity when played with our TAG.
I will use the new Remotes for the Shihab and Shaytaniyah. I am going to use the Chocobots for the Rafiq and Fanous.
I'm glad people like the new models. I'll keep my chickenbots because I love their design. And now that they will become "vintage" I like them even more.
I must say that new bots look pretty generic to me, but on the other hand i hate thin chicken legs of the old ones... So i will prolly buy new rems, it is not like i am not using Nomad rems for Haqq already.
I'm digging the new models. I love how they look in line with Maggie and the new Nasmats. I did like how unique the chickenbots were compared to other remotes, but I had some issues assembling them and preventing their antennas from breaking off.
Thank god I was able to score another box of chicken-bots, those run-of-the-mill spider REM´s every faction has, just don´t do it for me. ok, granted, they come with their own faction design nod, like the mini maggy here, but still.
I'm really looking forward for those new Bots, never got the old ones since my Haqq Lists tend to not use them anyways and I didn't like the looks of the old ones. Now I'm definately getting at least one box of mini Maggies (to go along wih my favorite TAG ... painted in QK Colors, even if we can't take Maggie) and maybe even more, if I enjoy Bots in RTF lists ... someday when RTF finally arrives
Ohhh snap!!! Total win here. I will be picking these up and adding a more prominent tail to them similar to Maggy for future use.
They’re...okay. I liked that our old remotes had some character to them, although whether you liked that character varied widely. (I love em’!) I was hoping for mini-scorpion bots, closer to Maggie. But for better or for worse, we have received some good looking but rather generic sci-fi remotes. However, conversions are real and so will the mini-scorpion tails be!
