I see one of the most appealing aspects of her joining the list as the fact that Acontecimento now truly has some uncertainty for its opponents when you put a camo token on the table. Especially if you bring the naga minelayer. All Acontecimento players can benefit from this too, even if they choose not to bring Dart herself! Combine this with the naga sniper and Bagh Mari/regular minelayers and things really start getting interesting.
Very excited to play Dart. Wicked model and an interesting profile! Now only if she'd find her way to NCA....
You guys are missing the best part, E/M GRENADES w/ PH 13. Throw that sucker at the scary HI pain trains out there. *cue evil laugh
Well, she'll complement the Nagas nicely. She'll do the heavy lifting, while the others will lay mines or go about objectives.
Her, Plus a KHD, Plus a Minelayer or the MSR is going to be a really tasty core for a link IMO. I think this puts ASA as squarely next on my painting schedule as soon as the bolts are done.
Corvus has revealed its plan to make Pano obsolete. You can now make Acon lists that are more Aleph than Pano. It’s like Corvus just gave Aleph two sectorials. Joking aside, I don’t know what else to say but she’s a fantastically interesting model with lots of potential being backed up by Regular fireteams. She is something Pano doesn’t quite have in any sectorial, a super deadly midfielder. The SMG and e/m grenades present a sort of threat that PanO usually can’t normally ccomplish. It will be interesting to see how she plays out. This does make me weep for other sectorials though. Acon is becoming a little bit more a distinctly interesting faction with increased access to flexible pieces capable of changing up attack vectors and varied equipment load outs. I think this also highlights the problem of Pano’s design that it borrows to heavily from another army to support it’s sectorial. I’m very mixed on the concept of an Acon character that really belongs to another faction. She’s cool, but she takes up design space for something that could be Pano but she kind of is because of the background. It’s a weird thing but I’m happier to have her than not. It’s also funny that Aleph’s characters outnumber Pano 2:1 now in sectorial.
Come on, people. Pointless whining reduces our already thin chances to get Eclipse Teutons. Stahp it!!!1 Remember what you came to Acon for and what you stayed for. If you don't like WIP 14 dogged camo-infiltrating specialists... well, I'm bloody sorry they offend you by being in Army, just don't take them. Same for Dart. As for theme (and lack thereof) I think ASA is in a perfect place. Jungle fighters? There you have them! Raw firepower - we have it allright. Hitting hard whenever necessary (and harder than many others I must say), or outmaneuvering the enemy (just think of it: 3 camo troopers in midfield, peacemakers, MechDep knights for fuck's sake - all great tools.) There are 3 ways to handle this: whine on, ragequit or just use whatever you like instead of Aleph ladies and gentlemen: Montesa OS as Nagas, conversion of Konstantinos with SMG and tactical crossbow oh his back as Dart... seriosly, cut the sword from Scylla's hand, glue on a BSG and a backpack - wooosh she's a Regular character. Forge a narrative and all that, like other game's books used to suggest.
You need to present some proof on this. Until that the sole purpose of playing Pano is whining about it! It doesn't work like that. Aleph units take up big chunk of the sectorials, you can't just not play them. It messes up the efficiency.
Since N2 I've been fielding Nagas and after Scylla and Drakios appeared... nothing changed for me. There was no place for them in my lists, as I am a too big fan of Monties, Bagh Maris and Tiks. Nagas are an autoinclude yes, but they've been there forever. Later additions are interesting, but I can't say any of them is a game changer. I have Drakios and Scylla but Drakios has seen table once, Scylla - twice during the last year, and that's it. So, for me at least, it does work. Came for Montesa and Dragoon, stayed for Montesa and Bagh Maris.
You don't have to include everything in your army nor you have to include them every time. But ASA is designed with Aleph troops in mind, so you can't play ASA with ignoring Aleph troops, because then you'll miss some utility that supposed to be there. Like you can play Vanilla as if it were Varuna, without fireteams, but you would limit yourself a lot. This all boils down that I don't like Aleph units are included in Pano sectorials, neither that they are good and useful and necessary troops. Dart is cool, but still Aleph in Pano.
Free stuff for the most fun and versatile PanO Sectorial and people start bitching. Must be us What's not to like? - secondary C+ hunter-killer troop - third Infiltrator together with AVA2 Nagas - E/M | Mines & SMG in PanO (which is strinkingly not a Combi) - 2 real fake wounds with Bioimmunity to offset everything that is effective against Nagas Acon didn't really need her. But I don't hear myself complaining about more flexibility.
Well she seems quite cool, and if she's never ever picked everyone now must calculate possibility of ASA suddenly throwing E/M grenades at you (or having yet another Bagh-Mari, this time with full camo).
Ok guys, why nobody is asking serious and important questions: Why isn't Dart available in vanilla PanO ? <she was PanO's citizen> She has no smoke, has beloved Bioimmunity, and actually could fit vanilla PanO bit better than a Naga's.
