They noted in the FRRM write up that othet factions may be set aside. SEF feel likely there. However, the Chaussures were put out before putting french on ice to get them current. I think we will see the same with Shas. We have been told Shas form a "big part" of the current story and the revelation of the Backdoor hacker as a speculo is likely part of that. SEF could face a consequence of having to scale back operations leaving only onyx members and a few special troopers in the list. To do so all they would need to do is: 1 release a speculo killer (Speculos are a key part of current its fluff, we saw a dossier for one last year at gencon) 2 a new malignos, or malignos repack. Basic Malignos is long out of print, and their presence in onyx must be kept in mind. The noctifers and sphinx are already good according to previous conferences. This feels like the way forward to me: give a few essentials/quality of life tweaks that vanilla and onyx players want, then put them on hold to do the complex work of redesign. Thoughts? Shasvaasti have already been confirmed for the current wave of sectorials that will presumably be compiled in the next book, (the project formerly known as Acheron Falls but that's just a working title, dammit Bostria keep you damn mouth shut!) and I think they said during the Adepticon seminar that design work was starting late this year. TPFKAAFBTJAWTDBKYDMS is currently slated to include Varuna, Tunguska, Vedic, Ramah, Kazaks, Invincible Army, Shasvaasti, and IIRC the Triumvirate. Since before HSN3 they've been consistent in saying that Shasvaasti were pushed back to the next book/Sectorial wave, and FRRM would be even further out.
New Sphinx please. I bought the old one just to put it on the table. However it was a waste of money as I almost never field it because i hate the mini.
There is already one : https://store.corvusbelli.com/produ...9-speculo-killer-monofilament-ccw-combi-rifle Not sure a new scult is needed
Yeah, I know all this. I also know that "ending" FRRM and splitting JSA were new plans, so things change. There are not too many other candidates for temporary removal (something mentioned in the Merovingia article as likely to happen again soon) so I am positing that their plans may have changed. I agree, but they showed a Dossier, so maybe CB thinks they do need a new one Sent from my SM-J320P using Tapatalk
JSA uprising isn't exactly "new". I Heard Bostria talking about it and he said the plan about JSA was set in motion about a year ago, last july or august. Bostria said a few month ago in a video, I don't recall which one was it, that the Shasvastii are getting a redesign, start to work on, at the end of the year.
I imagine the Speculo will get a new model with the Shas redesign. It looks bad now imo, I assume it'll only get worse next to a newer line of Shas.
That is a shame. Sorry to hear that. I personally like the model as it reminds me of a giant leaf-like insect. Hope to grab one someday soon if the price is right.
In the Kurage Crisis video for CA etc, Bostria said "Combined Army, with the MAF, OCF and in the future the Shasvastii..." The Shas have always been a critical background part of the CA, and I doubt they'll go anywhere. Will their minis go OOP? Well... maybe. I dunno. A lot of those old Shas minis are pretty shit IMO, and CB might want them off the shelves. I reckon they'll keep them around though, because I think that next year Shasvastii will be coming out and resculpted anyway (along with IA and whoever isn't released out of RTF and Varuna).
Having sat through that Seminar specifically the CA section very attentively this is not accurate to my recollection, certainly not at Gencon. Nor did Bostria have a dossier out of the seminar.
I think it’s more accurate to say that they’ve repeated a few times, because we’ve harried them about it, that the soonest they can work on the Shaasvastii is after GenCon this year. And I think you can bank on the question being asked at GenCon with an answer resembling “You’re next! Okay?!?!”
There was a dossier shown at GenCon... just not last year (as I too remebered) but, uh... 2014. Ok it was a while ago :l Sent from my SM-J320P using Tapatalk
I think I've hit the point where I wouldn't really lament their loss (sectorial) if they kept some of the vital units for Vanilla (Shrouded, Speculo). I feel like there's a mammoth amount of work to be done on them to make them playable and distinct from other factions. At present, they only really see play for the upped AVA of some of their star units (Speculo, TR HMG, Noctifer Missiles). They bring lots of camo, but "lots of camo" is done better by other factions in 95% of cases. Their auto-med and shasvastii-corpse state are nifty, but their high cost means low model count, means no spare orders to waste trying to regen your dudes.
Corvus should have a stock answer for the "when will shasvastii be re-released?" question. "The Shasvastii will be out after we finish the fishmen army for combined." In the same way that GW used to troll the trolls asking about squats.
From the Bostria's mouth: Carlos Torres is working on the concepts, they have a final design that is both new but also recognisably Shasvaasti, parallels were drawn to the Morat revamp the came with N3. Most of the concepts are about half done, the main "mannequin" design is finalised but the details are being filled in, there are no finished "back view" concepts yet.
Translate that to "spend your money with another company while you wait for CB to give you what you want."
