She did. It seems like thats pretty common, wasn't too difficult to remove though. Also just finished up Knauff with an attempt at a freehand StarCo logo.
Well, my turquise + Brick + Cream drifted into Red+Green+White. Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas! I ended up overcoating the green with NNM gray, so now I am left with Brick/Cream. Also, highlighting the Brick color is hard as I don't want to reach red. Comments?
Have I ever mentioned how I'm really mad at Christmas and McDonalds for taking two of the most basic color coordinations?
Despite it's no actual colour scheme I did most of the Base design for the Ariadnan, Corregidoran/Nomad troops and the Hawwa as well as the Brawler.
OK, I've tried a cream + turquoise. Please comment on color matching/pairing. Contrast? I want to add a lot of chipping and/or weathering, so I want cream-colored boots to show off the mud... The turquoise has two textures, hard and soft. The Intruder has a "hard" helmet and "soft" pants while the Alguacile has "soft" pants and shirts. The "hard" color is brighter and I'll take it up to near-white. The "soft" color is desaturated and I'll not take the contrast as far. Not certain yet about how to handle hard/soft cream colors. I am committing to 100+ hours paint in the new faction, so please help me avoid a mess...
Looking good so far, @MikeS1173 ! For your soft highlights, don't go higher than ivory or an odd color called Deck Tan in the Vallejo range. Ivory is pretty neutral, can be used on top of everything, even red, without mixing. Deck tan is a bit browner than ivory, so you may need to mix in a bit of your base color into it instead of using it straight. You will want to use wider highlights on the soft materials than on the hard. Hard materials you can also do interesting things like Sky/Earth effects, where you have a near-white highlight right next to a dark shadow. The trick is to pick your ONE light source location for your hard highlights and stick with it for everything. I've used Ivory for my hard highlights, but you need to keep all hard highlights very thin. Pure white is very stark, if you go there you want a single tiny dot. Ivory is much more forgiving if you get it in the not-quite-perfect spot.
That's my Uhahu so far. You might guess which character was my inspiration (that's not a star on her cap) :)
W Well I don't know the reference but palm tree was what I saw before you said it wasn't a star so very good job.
Hahaha, then I didn't paint it that bad. Thanl you :D The reference is this guy: Dipper Pines from Gravity Falls.
Oh what? Are you saying he's not a "male man?" Is that what you're trying to say? He's not male? He's not a man? Is that-is that what you're getting at? Spoiler It's a quote I'm not actually mad! I didn't put it together because it wasn't a pine.
That's a pretty manotaurcentric worldview! :D Dipper is male AF! Also StarCo has Avicenna in it's ranks so Uhahu might try the other way round... or she's just a big fan of such old TV Series
My Cateran here you see the camo pattern I'll use for all* Troops with Camouflage/Mimetism. To blend him in furter his tartan comprises one colour of my Nomads scheme as well as one colour of my PanO scheme (my CSUs come from there). Aso his wristband is of corregidoran origin. *Emily didn't care, she's got her own pattern ;)
Going for an "organised professional irregulars" look with mine. I know the remotes look kinda french, but they're painted to match my Anaconda is why. Still need to sort basing... blank black is temporary.
Mine are extending off my Correigidor mini theme of Marvel characters (Senor Massacre, McMurrough as Beast, Iguana Colossus, Lupe Shadowcat) and going full X-Men.
My inspiration right there [from the RPG book]; I loved the idea of a sinister AI operating out of the Nomad nation. And what better way to expand your sphere of influence even further, than by means of inflitrating/taking over striketeams of a [corregidor/bakunin] nomad based mercenary outfit? Forgot to post mine. Finished my force for the local slow-grow league at the end of august, about 600pts worth. There's some counts-as in there... Gata is the Al'Hawaa. ABH is Emily. Yuan-Yuan is Spector. Ninja is Hardcase. Rosie and the Farzan are brawlers. Neoterra exec is a CSU. Lunah is the Cateran.
