I used a SMG Hakims + Nasmat A2 for the first time over the weekend. I found the ability to place a WIP 15 doc + and a servant almost anywhere on the board invaluable. The SMG disappointed, but that was a bit more my rolling than anything else. I'll agree that Regen on him is not particularly useful, given the low PH value.
I'm excited to try the Hakim in vanilla. He's neat, but I agree that he's not the most points efficient specialist in Vanilla. I'm curious to see if/what he gets in RTF. Here's hoping for a Chain of Coammand and/or an ADHL option.
