I think as a sectorial the active turn will be powerful and the reactive turn will be scary. Most of our units have weaknesses easily exploited, and at tunguska price points it's not cheap trying to cover each other's backs. Many puppet masters will die from combat jump. Hollowmen will burn in flame and chain while heroically shooting back. Kriza reactive turn nerf will continue to sting. Hecklers will trollololol until someone > 24" decides to remove him. This army feels very inclined to go first and disrupt the enemy. They counter other specials a lot easier than most armies (anti camo, anti impersonator~, lots of hacking vs tags and HI) but any straight up fighter will not worry so much. A pano fusilier link can probably just out shoot everything with minimal angst. Tunguska best effort is to try shooting them first.
Adding a tinbot hollowman to a Kriza looks like a good Duo to me. Kriza Haris i don't think i'll use, i'd rather have each Kriza on their own flank each with a Hollowman duo. Puppet Master used alone for Counterintelligence. If used with puppets then I think the price will skyrocket into Limited Insertion by default. I have to find a use for a SuperJumping stempler. Either in the special raoul perseus stempler Haris; or as a 18Pts 5th member to Hollow man core.
Here are some concerns going in (not that I'm playing them). You have insane mobility but almost all from the DZ. Even with speed you will be spending a lot of repositioning orders. To counteract this I would take and save at least 1 Spektr or Raoul. Also either a Kriza or Salamandra to clear AROs unless you think you can do it with your link. You want to be far away from your badly protected DZ. With no mid presence and expensive DZ protection this is going to be hard. Pricey guys get the equipment to be defensive, fragile and cheap guys have vital equipment you want to protect. You aren't defending Intruders with Jaguars which is pretty much an optimal spread. You're the other way around. I would heavily consider linking a Grenzer or Hollow ML for defense. Puppetmaster minelayer may as well be their only profile. I didn't like the Heckler Jammer before but you might need it even at that cost. Try to have a SS2 hacker so your repeaters don't get bypassed (harder than you'd think). I really don't think they're a powercreeped sectorial but we'll have to see them played.
Corregidor are slow, but fast. They tend to use slower troops, but they have a lot of infiltration and AD, so their troops can start in the action. It'd hardly be unusual to see a list with a Moran, a Bandit and a Tomcat, 14-15 orders and loads of flexibility. Tunguska are fast, but slow. They have loads of quick troops but are all from the DZ, like Loricus says. They have Spektrs and a couple of drop options, but they're expensive. They have ADL1, but that's limited in distance. It'd be unusual to see two infiltrators and an AD troops in Tunguska, never mind with a big order pool.
I am quite liking the Grenzer Link with Interventor: Jurisdictional Command of Tunguska ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 9 1 TSYKLON Spitfire, Pitcher / Electric Pulse. (1 | 31) TSYKLON (Forward Deployment L1) Spitfire, Pitcher / Electric Pulse. (1 | 33) INTERVENTOR Hacker Lieutenant (Hacking Device Plus) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 25) GRENZER Missile Launcher / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 29) GRENZER Spitfire / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 30) GRENZER (Biometric Visor L1) Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0 | 24) GRENZER (Forward Observer, Sensor) Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0 | 27) PERSEUS (Super-Jump) Breaker Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / 2 Pistols, DA CC Weapon. (0 | 34) SPEKTR Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle, Cybermines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 34) SPECTOR (AD: Combat Jump) Boarding Shotgun, Nanopulser, Drop Bears / Pistol, E/M2 CC Weapon. (0 | 33) 5.5 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army Not really interested in the fancy new toys (they seem pretty cool tho), but the combination of solid options with out stupid restrictions. Another fun variant on that list is the Grenzer Interventor Haris, with a Raoul/Perseus Securitate core.
I’m not sure Hollowmen will get bogged down standing ground against enemy fire. While they are religious, since they’re remote presence they also have courage and can use that to bypass religious for guts checks. Unless that interaction has changed and I missed it.
Interesting. This is probably accurate reading of the rules but that makes the inclusion of religious troop irrelevant. I wonder if this was an oversight.
This has a secondary effect of being more predictable on Tunguska's part. You can pin down or assassinate a troop sitting in the DZ.
There is an FAQ about Religious and Courage when it comes to Guts Rolls. http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Religious_Troop
i know that everybody will attack me but i have some negative feelings about the new army. i waited for a while and let me give my thoughts. with this structure, i believe tunguska is the weakest sectorial at the moment and even weaker than morats according to me. i say this on competitive base. otherwise units are really fun as hell and crazy things. they have the least possible order count when you compare with the other sectorials. this could be a logical choice if they had infiltrators. before, we were calling steel phalanx, aleph and onyx as elite armies. There was a reason for that. avatar, marut, sphinx, all those powerful links were striking really hard. as a design choice, even CB put netrods and imetron/ikadrons for to help for this problem. and if you need you can find a way to arrange high order count lists with even these armies. but in tunguska you dont have anything except zonds. But there is no real reason for that. since you dont have infiltrators at all, you have to shrink all your units in your own deployment zone which will be an other problem. Furthermore these is no msv. Imagine you start the game as second. what can you do against cheap warbands? bs 12 sniper link reliable but, opponent can have odd, rockets and other many things. at the end , attacker has burst advantage. spetnaz will kill your troops, fiday will clean the deployment still. problem is you have expensive troops but you will loose them easilly. I believe this sectorial needs several touches to make it more competitive. SM-C9000 cihazımdan Tapatalk kullanılarak gönderildi
Wow this really feels like the Nomad version of Steel Phalanx: Jurisdictional Command of Tunguska ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 9 1 INTERVENTOR Hacker Lieutenant (Hacking Device Plus) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 25) GRENZER Missile Launcher / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 29) GRENZER (Fireteam: Haris) Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 26) TSYKLON (Forward Deployment L1) Spitfire, Pitcher / Electric Pulse. (1 | 33) TSYKLON (Forward Deployment L1) Spitfire, Pitcher / Electric Pulse. (1 | 33) PERSEUS FTO (Fireteam: Haris) Breaker Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / 2 Pistols, DA CC Weapon. (0 | 33) GRENZER Spitfire / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 30) GRENZER (Biometric Visor L1) Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0 | 24) SPECTOR (AD: Combat Jump) Boarding Shotgun, Nanopulser, Drop Bears / Pistol, E/M2 CC Weapon. (0 | 33) SPEKTR Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle, Cybermines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 34) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army Coincidentally it does battle most weekends identified so far. Guess it's a little on the slow side with all the MI, but the rest and linking certainly can make for that. Luv it!!!
@perseus your observations are correct (except they do get an Infiltrator). But we could not know if it is a problem to a degree of making them a bad sectorial yet.
Hollow mens fluff is great, though it does make me think of them as super srs E-sports gamers does make me think 1.Do they see ppl as just NPCs (kinda terrifying) 2. Hollow men+ Borac duo must be infuriating, we all hate escort missions, especially when you ally is so slow 3. Do they rage when up against smoke trick "WTF WALL HACKS" -fail armour save "I WAS BLOCKING"
i know the spektr but situation gets worser with spektr. because expensive and you need to put a marker on table otherwise loosing one more precious order. SM-C9000 cihazımdan Tapatalk kullanılarak gönderildi
Defensively, I do not think lacking MSV is what hurts against warbands. No one should be sticking their intruder out to dry anyway . What we didn't get was a good replacement for mid field mines and crazy koalas and cheap dogged chain rifles to slow down the advancing WBs. These are weaknesses we will have to learn to mitigate for sure, but it's potentially powerful.
