Even as a PanO player, if Templars appear in Tunguska in any way, shape, or form.. I will pick up Tunguska so dang fast. The starter is already tempting enough! That would completely send me over the edge.
Id kinda like it if Tunguska got "The black knight" as a "character" but its actually just a group of templars all playing the role. It could also serve as an amusing pun in Tunguska as "Black knight" is also a finance term " white knight is a friendly investor or savior, while a black knight is a destroyer. Typically, a black knight will enter a business or company as an influential person such as a major investor or a member of the board of directors and will dismantle a profitable or asset-rich business to enrich themselves, which typically leaves the previously profitable company in a weaker financial position"" could be the templars found a job within Tunguska doing some dirty work through use of their AI to mess up Pan-o and Aleph Banks to make Tunguska look safer. CC HI with impersonation
I wonder what out-of-faction units Tunguska might get access to. Like Pano and Yu-Jing have Sophotecs on a few setorials, for example. Right now It looks like we have this on Tunguska: LI: Securitate - Probably loose Repeater and SS2 as a base to become usable. Still could use a points reduction, because even without that gear they are still looking at something like 14 pts a piece. Will probably gain a couple more profiles that keep the SS and Repeater. Core option ( maybe with a interventor) is likely. Giving SS2 to a interventor is going to be nasty.... Interventors - Will probably get a character - already hinted at in the storylines MI: Grenzers - Not looking like will get much change. Cora and Haris options are likely. Hecklers - The preview sees them fantasticaly useful in all but one profile. They might need that not fantastic profile as they might be the only non interventor KHD on the sectorial. HI: Kriza - Nomad Facepunch. Hollowmen - Likely to be G: Remote Presence HI with ARM4 (got the same plate design as mobile brigadas). Might have holos, and that could make them awesome, or might get a haris option. TAG: Szalamander. SK: Spektrs. Might get a KHD profile, but I wouldn't count on it. REM: Standard Nomad REMs. Pretty good selection, tbh. Hecklers are very nice but lack infiltration, Spekters are great but expensive. Its not midfield spammy like all other Nomad factions that get great troops there for cheap ( and we are unlikely to get Morans, Bandits or Zeros ) No warbands and paying extra for the light shotgun on Securitates means our light troops tend to be a bit on the expensive side. We will probably inherit clockmakers and Daktaris from vanilla Seeing a distinct lack of Anti tank weaponry tossed around too. Right now we have the Missile Launcher on Grenzers. So we might be expected to hack enemy HI / TAGs to be able to handle them. Luckly, we have what is one of the best repeater coverage in the game. The amount of hackers ( and especially cheap Hackers ) don't look too impressive right now - we do not have options that are very cheap and also useful as not-a-hacker except for a Heckler KHD - but thanks to Interventors our hackers can be pretty great. KHD interventors are really cheap, but they are hackers and thats it. If there is nothing hackable around then they are somewhat expensive specialists that are not useful in combat and might fail to enter their own camo state. Compared with Zeros, for example - 1 point more expensive, but bring mines, camo and infiltration if there is not a opposing hacker to fry. The faction looks quite interesting right now. We are still missing some stuff ( ODD in particular - Tunguska is who created the tech, and likely want to have access to come CC ). Would love to see something like a camo/odd infiltrating SK to help in the midfield, or something with AD, but the faction already looks pretty solid even if it looks a bit light on number of units. It is quite likely that there will be a few new units that were not previewed / not given a sculpt yet.
If I was setting up my dreamlist Tunguska LI clockmaker Daktari securitate- Core+haris option, put repeaters on a profile option, drop the shotguns, keep 6th sense(is great on a sniper haris, or hacker in a haris team) (spec op in a vs set called "wetwork" Tunguska vs Varuna, some form of cheif of security, give him some type of visor) Interventors (haris with 2 grenzers or 2 securitate) Interventor Character, either special program, or maybe a "puppet master" sort of person who can core with combat puppets MI Grenzers- Core+haris with interventor Hecklers (fill the zero role of midfield skirmisher) HI Kriza Hollowmen- Duo, sort of a skirmish style HI, allow 1 to join a securitate Core Templars- A TO or impersonation style HI with Mcmoroughs "Templar CC AP+DA weapon" would function as a anti tank CC unit, ODD/albedo + cybermask KHD could also work TAG szally SK spektre (id like them to get a cheaper option with KHD, otherwise id likely rely more heavily on hecklers) REM combat puppets (act like Kuang shi, can link with a puppet master interventor character) will be factions kuang shi/warband style cheap unit Nautical Zond (Bike type troop, could maybe be counted as a TAG) -In my head it would be related to the Tunguskan courier service, Hacker on a bike thats geared to getting mid table and getting off bike for objectives, grabbing shit and leaving. MERC -Emily+Uhahu -saito -CSU
Any new trooper called the Black Knight should be a warband and have both total immunity and NWI to model how he can lose all four limbs and still consider the fight a draw!
Yeah, new MI seem kinda rare. Kinda because they're a vague anomaly now, being at best as well armoured as some lighter HI, but no better than some LI sometimes. They generally seem quite undesirable. It's not too sad if Grenzers are the only Tunguska MI though. JSA have none, after all.
Nomand Sectorials seem to follow a rough guideline, but maybe that's just my human propensity for finding patterns in things. Specific LI from you ship that can form a core link: Alguicile, Moderator, Securitate. MI link: Wildcats, Moira, Grenzer HI link: Mobile Brigada, Grrls, Hollowmen (I assume) big heavy armored gun figher: Gecko, Taskmaster, Kriza forward deploying skirmisher: Bandit/moran, Zero/prowler, Spektr/Heckler TAG: Iguana, Lizard, Szalamandra warband: Jaguar, Morlock, Maybe the puppet things? and then you've got your gap fillers that help to further define sectorial identity (some of these do it much better than others): intruder/hellcat/tomcat, sin eater/other reverends/uberfall, interventor/?/? I think those double questions marks will be where see some of the other new exciting things. Maybe the oubliette stuff, maybe whatever a nautical zond is (assuming that doesn't join the other zonds as general use, though corregidor doesn't get meteors, so maybe those are bakunin specific) maybe something else. Splash in a few characters and the traditional nomad staples of clockmaker/daktari/rems, and that's probably what we're going to be looking at for launch.
I'm not gonna lie, I would love to see a nomad REM that, while it is obvious to everyone that's it has been clearly kitbashed together from stolen Aleph REM parts, there is a legal facade of distinction that makes it technically something they can't be called out on. I don't think Tunguska is the ship that would use something like that, but it'd be great if it existed.
Profiles will go online at 3 pm GMT (Spain Time). At least that is what CB tells the people asking on Facebook. ;) Can´t wait :D
