This one is build with highly classified in mind : specialist of all kind, two TR drone to be sure to have something to repair and hold the field, tomcat to do sabotage and/or surprise attack, intruder for long range firepower (with a prone daktari to heal him and the morlock to smoke him) and heckler for mid-range. Group 2 is here for hacking support (as TR drone will die fast), the tomcat will move group 1 when entring the table. The taskmaster in group 2 will be used for counterattack in early game then move to group 1 latter. Any advices ? My knowledge of nomad is mostly theory as my there is only one (very casual) Nomad player in my meta so any advice will be much aprecited
Regarding the Highly Classified list, I would consider converting the zero FO and clockmaker into Zoe and Pi-well. I don't think the zero FO does much for you in this list, and you can get the engineering coverage back with Zoe. You would have to cut back on a few more points to get it. Personally, I'd prob drop the second TR bot. Pi-Well is an FO and a target for repair is you need it, plus who doesn't love some sensor. If you already have an intruder and heckler, I don't know that I think a second TR adds much for this mission. Zoe & Pi-well are pretty great for Highly Classified. I also like taking the Uberfall to gain Eclipse in case you have to get to their HVT. As a bonus, the Chimera has Structure and Total Immunity, making her very unlikely to get taken all the way to dead by an ARO. This list worked well for me in my last tournament. I was able to repair the Chimera with Zoe for Test Run and use Triangulated Fire with Pi-Well to Forward Observe a model that she was in combat with. Thanks for all the comments, it give me some matter to think about Just a question, what's the point of the intruder Sniper here : In active, the intruder sniper is nearly always inferior to the hmg, does that mean you plan to use it as an ORA piece (with a morlock as cover) ? Regarding the double TR drone, I played it time to time with Aleph with good result. TR drone with support program are quite good as active piece and are a good order sink for the oponent.Zoe + interventor give me an even better acess to support prgram than my Danava. Is there a reason it wouldn't work well in Nomad ?
Double TR works fine in Nomads. 1SWC/26pts is just an extremely valuable point in Nomads, so it's got lots of competition. MSR is more table dependant. Turn 1 it kills 1 or 2 enemy AROs then either with Morlocks smoking or not it remains on ARO. Ideally somewhere where it can go Unconcious and get healed. This whole process doesn't take away orders from your specialists.
We just had a pretty long discussion about TR bots and what I took out of it was that people who like the TR Bot a lot take it because it's cheaper & versatile. By that logic, and considering Nomads have the best engineers, most people probably won't take 2. The Tsyklon Spitfire is a better attack piece and the Sin Eater Mk 12 is better at defending your DZ.
Intruder sniper became more interesting to me after the Kriza dropped. Between them, they can tackle a huge variety of threats. I’d probably not leave the sniper in aro until late game though.
Agree. I was lazy when writing, point was that he’s not something you always leave out there. On the other hand, that goes for all ”aro” pieces.
Normally I'd agree with you. But in HC you need to provide targets for your opponent if you get Experimental Drug. Intruder MSRs are great for this because they're in your DZ and are likely to only take 1W between Mimmetism and high ARM. If you're facing lots of Shock or Viral then I'd probably reconsider. Equally, by putting your Morlocks in a position to draw fire in your opponent's turn you burn your opponent's orders and provide targets for your Drs.
If getting shot is the thing, I’d suggest the sin eater. I never seem to get him into my lists. I also love the uberfall str gig. Gold when paired with a tomcat engineer
Sin Eater doesn't do the swing role: ie Kill things First and then get shot. Moira MSR or Knauf are decent alternatives (particularly Knauf because Shock). I'd not suggest putting an Intruder MSR out on ARO until after you get a turns shooting out of them. But honestly, I often find that it won't really have active turn Targets after T1.
Ok, I read all the comments above and reworked my list. I took the prowler (instead of the heckler & one TR drone) to have an advanced D-Charge, reducing the need for a tomcat. Removing the tomcat & second TR drone allowed me to include Zoe & Pi-Well. I loose a little in resilence and board control but I gain one more orders, more camo markers (shell game, yeah !) and one pain in my opponent ass (either cybermine or jammer). With the remaining point and by removing the daktari second zondbot, I can buy a moderator, making group 2 a five order group. I’m sure it’s a preference thing, but I would sub the 2 moderators for morlock assault pistols i group 1, or possibly all of them for an additional zondbot. They can create all kinds of havoc, clear mines, discover stuff etc. no supp fire though. If you really need the orders, you have cp. But then again, I play Bakunin a lot and like imp spam.
I won a game flipping a mass of Impetuous orders regular to get a Morlock to smoke an Avatar. People who aren't used to spamming Ext Imp Irregular get shocked by how good they are. But I tend to Morlocks in the small order group builds and flip them across if I need them T2-3.
Yeah but he is also cheaper and works well in the reactive turn. Especially going second. Also I really like him but he never makes my lists, so I am compensating by trying to get other players to use him.
I like to have one or morlocks or an uberfal in the main pool if an opportunity presents itself. It is insane how much damage a lone morlock assault pistol can cause, especialy if you roll movement or nwi or dogged.
