Using the Jump skill to end on a ladder [with an otherwise unskilled figure] is legal, right? I did it in a game today and there were some doubts. I feel like it must be fine because a ladder is a legal place to Move.
I'd say it's as legal as using Jump or Super Jump with a Climbing Plus model, which was discussed somewhere a few months ago, so yeah.
I'm pretty sure any model can jump to end their move on any vertical surface, whether it's a ladder or not (or whether you have climbing plus or not) will just impact the actions you can take once you are there. Climb makes reference to holding onto surfaces but doesn't provide any explicit permission itself, I think we have to assume ending your movement holding onto a vertical surface is a general ability.
Yeah, it depends how you define 'landing place'. Easiest definition is 'somewhere the model is legally allowed to be' ie 'somewhere where their base is fully in contact with the surface it's touching'. Which allows anyone to end a jump on a vertical surface. From a balance or gameplay POV I see no issue with this. And it's cool. Basically climbing doesn't describe how you get onto a vertical surface, only what you can do once you're there.
