After 7 months without Tohaa releases, today we received the news that the French are out of production. And the news came along with this worrysome line "To help showcase the appearance of our products in stores, the launching of new armies will result in the withdrawal of older products from our catalog." The Tohaa civilization is already at risk of dissapearing after a long, impossible battle against the CA... Is this how we dissapear from the Universe (and the game)?
Lol, no, Tohaa received a lot of new stuff, like Kosuil, Sukeul, Kaauri, Pokemons, big pokemons. They are new and pretty sculpts. The french were ages old, I only play since N3, so can't tell if N1 or N2, but old and ugly. Also, apart from Chasseur, nobody cares about them.
I suspect the issue is being in a design corner. You have all the optimized profiles and a unit (mates) that is so good the alternative (bugs) re literally never seen. You will likely be getting a "sectorial" and maybe a revamp of existing profiles to make sure that more options are viable than currently (see previous sentence).
Don't forget that French are a sectorial, while we are a *faction*. I doubt CB will dare dumping a faction, especially the one they had envisioned since the game was just a custom tabletop RPG for friends.
I think it is sad new if you play MRRF, but they will be back someday, As, for our army. we should be good and most of our models are new.
Like I said in the other thread - probably not, Tohaa won't be removed, but it could be good for us if they actually were - we'd never be disappointed again, since Tohaa would never be on the schedule for new units.
The last time MRRF got a new model was Bruant back in 2nd edition. This is nowhere near the same situation.
As such, I would say we're a collection of sectorials bundled together until an opportunity presents itself. Sukeul and Kosuil units are definitely the oddballs in generic Tohaa, so when the blessing of Triumvirate finally comes upon us, I would expect them to be less common in vanilla Tohaa.
We are just like the french, a sectoral with little room left to grow. Bostria himself said that tohaa arnt even the archtype for the faction they belong too.
Yeah, while they are definitely backburning Tohaa, and I'm not fond of the treatment, no, I do not think this faction will have the Merovingian treatment. Especially being that the faction is not canceled, it's just that production line up of old stuff. At least we know what to look forward to.
I don't really feel like that. We have a nice selection of troops, but I don't think they don't belong together. There isn't much redundancy either.
The main reason I don't see Tohaa going away is the Neema resculpt. No reason to make that if they were planning on killing the faction. I think they either A) really like messing with Tohaa players or B) are trying to get us so starved for releases that we will buy whatever silliness they decide to come up with next for Tohaa.
i think its more likely tohaa gets moved to NA2, which would actually be better for us in the long run. it would let them treat tohaa as the sectorial army that it is, and its pretty obvious at this point that there aren't any tohaa sectorials in the works.
Haven't we explicitly heard that we're getting a new sectorial, it just won't be ready within the year because of wacky aliens. I don't think there's any chance that Tohaa is being shifted around, as @macfergusson said this isn't even close to the same situation. The waiting sucks but the hope is that it will be all worth it in the end, calling end of the world doesn't help anything.
