    Hey,

So I just randomly picked up a 50% off Steel Phalanx box and Achillies with Spitfire. I guess that means I'm wandering over from Onyx to here.

I've been advised to grab Ekdromos, Macheon, Drakios and Scylla.

The SP box contains: Agema Sniper, Phoenix, 5 Myrmidons (SF, BS), Pethesilea and Ajax.

What else are the must haves for this sectorial and what sorts of lists do people take? How many orders is common?

I don't actually know what SP stuff really does, so I'm just looking for some pointers for good purchases.

From my experience playing Aleph for a while (and SP ocasionally), you will need at least Trasymedes from the Dire Foes box, also some Torakitai (either from the starter box or the special weapons box) and a support pack because of the Netrods.

Me personally... I never run SP under 14-15 orders, which I think is a really good order count for them.

As for next models to get, my votes would be for Atalanta, Machaon, Support Box, Rebots, and Thrasymedes Dire Foe Box.

Machaon is my favorite LT choice, and even though a lot of people will expect it... I have hardly ever lost him in games.

Atalanta is a big time nightmare piece for your opponents to deal with her MSV2 and BS 17 with her tinbot. Just remember that she is NOT an ARO piece but an active turn piece, and you won’t be disappointed.

Support Box will give you the much needed Netrods for cheap orders, as well as the helper Bots for Doctors and Engineers.

Rebots are great for the Lamedh Flash Pulse Bots which also help out with getting more orders to feed to your Myrm Link teams, as well as the TR Bots.

And Thrasymedes is my number one pick to head off a good Thorakitai Link with his ODD and LRL, as well as being a specialist.

My “core generic” Phalanx list is:

    Group One:
    - Phoenix Link with Machaon LT, AHD Hacker Myrm, Chain Myrm
    - Zayin TR HMG Bot
    - Daleth Sensor Bot
    - 2 Lamedh Flash Pulse Bots
    - 2 Netrods

    Group Two:
    - Atalanta
    - Thrasymedes link with FO, Paramedic, Combi Thorakitai.

Group ones orders go on Phoenix and co to move up the board and kill stuff and grab Objectives with its 2 Specialists backed up by the TR Bot and the Sensor Bot for those JSA players out there.

Group twos 5 orders are reserved for Atalanta most games to Smoke Trick and give your opponent fits... and if they hide all the stuff. great! Then Thrasymedes and co move up and secure objectives and kill things with his LRL.

You will need 2 antennas... Aleph only sell those with the Sophotect in the vanilla Support Pack, but you can always proxy them with your CA's Imetrons.

Thorakitai Box (OR Greek Starter Box) + Thrasimedes is kinda needed, the Ekdromoi will depend on your needs/wants: one is usually enough, but I prefer the normal ones to Diomedes (because D is so spread it doesn't fit in a standard Feldherr foam).
The starter box is 3 thorakitai, a female Myrm hacker, another agema, and Eudoros... Frankly atm the only reason to pick that box is Eudoros, since your Thorakitai standard loadout is Thrasimedes + HMG + 2FO or Engineer+FO most of the time.

Scylla and Drakios are not really a must, but they certainly change the field and introduce some changes to the "standar" gaming tactic of the greeks.

Penthesilea is, atm, the ugly duckling of the box (hard to fit, independent, and a bike... with all the baggage that implies).

Wounds you sat, outside Achilles BS, SP is competitive?

Like, no five man links. Mostly slow movement and no infiltration. Expensive, elite. Does it have trouble playing ITS button pressing missions?

(Replied to the wrong thread. Was supposed to ask in mine)

No probelm at all. In SP you can include sturdy (CoC Myrmidon Officer , Myrmidon Hacker, Machaon) or cheap (Thorakitai FO/Paramedic) specialists and a big gun (Alke, Eudoros, Phoenix) in 3/4-man fireteams. It's a very order-effective way to move-shoot with these fireteams because you can kill opposiong troopers and move your specialists upfield at the same time.
Not being able to field 5-man fireteams you don't get the +3 BS bonus but most of the time you do not need it, because your troopers are already very good (high BS, good weapons and ODD mostly) at winning firefights.
