Last minute game came up. It's going to be the Dire Foes Mission Flee or Die, narrative mode. I've never ran Yasbir and think a fluffy list might be fun.

What do y'all think I should run?

Here's the first crack of the top of my head:

Ok. So you need to find the VIP, CC him to death, and then control the data pack he drops. Yasbir can start in the exclusion zone and gets a bonus to open containers, so that’s good. Konstantinos can also start in the deployment zone, but his msv2 isn’t that a big a deal against Bahram and he’s garbage in a CC where his mimetism won’t help, so it seems like he’ll be easy pickings for Yasbir if left unsupported.

Asawira and Fiday are both good at CC murder so they can also take out the VIP if Yasbir is busy. Muyib running with the Asawira can open coffins so they’re a nice contained package. I’m not really seeing any glaring holes. You could probably shuffle some points around to upgrade your Ragik to a spitfire since you’ve said you like those.

Right now Yasbir is the only one who can quickly get to the coffins to start opening them. I don’t know if it’s worth it to try and squeeze a Rafiq or Farzan in to try and get to the boxes faster.

Do you happen to know if your opponent will be bringing MO or Vanilla?

    I don’t think he’ll bring MO.

There’s a big exclusion zone in the middle of the board. Do you think Farzan are still worth it?

Hard to say. A Farzan saves you about 1/2 an order over a non infiltrating specialist. Assuming a straight path relatively free of AROs, it will take three 4 inch moves to get to a coffin. The Farzan could do it in two short orders without worrying about AROs. Either your opponent waits to see if the Farzan reveals and you just double move anyway, or they try to discover and you still get b2b with the coffin regardless. Whether or not your coffins are tall enough to provide cover could also be a factor. I don’t know how safe it will be for the Farzan once you get there. Point against the Farzan, if you need hi. To open boxes he won’t be the mine profile so it’s not as useful.

I guess it depends on whether or not you think there is value in saving a short order getting to the coffins. Worst case scenario you just chase down his guys and steal the data packs from their corpses if they get there first and the Fiday and Ragik could handle that pretty well, I imagine,

So we ended up running normal lists and tacking on the Dore Foes characters for free.

Can’t post my list, but I ran a Asawira Haris + Ghulam Core and Mutts.

My opponent played NCA with a Squalos Heavy Grenade Launcher. He deployed poorly and lost about 4-6 models on turn one, including the TAG. (Did I mention it was his active turn)? Most of this was done with the Ghulam ML/sniper.

I rolled hot through to the bottom of turn one, wiping out all but a peacemaker, mechanist, and fusilier medic.

During this, I moved the Asawira into contact with an objective, got a luck roll and pulled out the HVT, curb stomping her with the next order.

My opponent was in Retreat at the top of 2 and the game ended.

Only issue I see is an order-starved drop troop with Dogged. I'd want many more orders for him to wreak havoc with.

Glad to hear tactics and dice were on your side. How many Asiwara did you have in the Haris?

Spitfire Asawira + Muyib Doc + Muyib AP minelayer. I started them left center, moved through smoke and cover to clean house.

One thing I’ve noticed, when running this haris build multiple times, is that it’s mainly a specialist delivery system/clean-up crew. It rarely has to do much heavy lifting.

Interesting. So what typically handles the threat removal in your lists?

Depends on the list, but in many cases, the linked Ghulam ML will eliminate between 60-160 points of enemy threats. Especially when his fire-lane is stacked with a sniper and Leila. Daylami and Ghazi are great for blocking and board control to set this up.

Like I’ve said before, my Barid + Rafiq put in a lot of work as well.

The Shihab can also be a devastating Rambo.

I’ve had a lot of luck with the Ayyar SMR. (Viral pistols).

    (This is just for HB).

Overall, I find that Haqqislam lists rarely rely on one strong piece. Instead, coordinating the strengths of many “weak” units and stacking advantage will win games.
