Hi All, I thought I'd start a conversation on what units players are using to represent their various DBS units on the tabletop. Different groups have different attitudes towards proxying, though I find that most settings (even pretty major tournaments) don't mind proxying as long as they're internally consistent and have some kind of logic to them. Some thoughts from me: Hunzakuts: I actually bought a Hunzakut to proxy as a Chasseur. Now I'll use a Chasseur to proxy my second Hunzakut. They look very similar in uniform. Brawlers: This is the big question. I actually like Hassassin Muyibs for them, because they look like they could be ARM2/BTS3, come with a doctor mini, rifles/light shotguns, a Heavy Rocket Launcher, and can be armswapped pretty easily for that MULTI Sniper. Saito: I've seen the Outrage Oniwaban used here, though Saito does technically have his own model. I also like Shikami here too (lots of people are looking for an excuse to buy the Shikami mini, so this is a pretty good excuse!) Valerya: She does technically have a model already, though I like the N3 Druze Hacker for her. That Druze hacker has style, and her PanO Combi sets her apart from the rest of the Druze themselves. Any other good recommendations or variants? What about for Chief Arslan? Cordelia?
Now that you mention Outrage... I would use Jethro as Chief Arslan (having no helmet, he looks different than the rest of the Druze), but his weapon might need some work.
Hunzakut: I'll be using the female Govad with rifle as my second Hunzakut, the cloak helps portray her being a camo infiltrator, plus she has the combi + light shotgun, so is loaded appropriately. Brawlers: For now using the Haqqislam Support Pack for my Dr/Engineer Brawler, plus the spare Govads from the aforementioned Govad box to give me a sniper and HRL. For the hacker, I'll probably use Uhahu from Outrage until someone more appropriate comes out. I really do like the idea of the Muyibs though, just would need to convert that spitfire into something else. Saito: I'll also be using the Outrage Oniwaban, I had also considered the O-yori pilot, or Kitsune, but the Outrage one is great. Cordelia: Can be swapped with Uhahu from Outrage as well, or the Doctor from the Haqq support pack. Arslan: Been considering the Ayyar, but possibly because I love the model. Also the Muyib from the Hassassin starter, Zhayedan from the Haqq starter, Djanbazan with Shock Marksman Rifle. Stephen Rao is actually probably a good candidate as well, and has the advantage that everyone forgets he exists. I've also considered converting it from the OLD Druze with Sword.
I slapped a druze helmet on Jethro and painted his helmet a different color. He's currently serving tripple duty as Muet, multisniper Druze, and Arslan, though not at the same time :sweatsmile: Seems like outrage oniwaban is a favorite for Saito. Not a big fan of his mini. I used Uhahu as my Valerya, wish i could get my hands on a n3 druze hacker
I've always been a fan of the Kaplan and Sekban models. Unfortunately, the Kaplan has no HRL model, but does come with the multi sniper. The Sekban are the opposite, and I don't care that either have a special skill (Doctor, FO, Hacker, etc.) mini because I hate those with a passion.
I'm just gonna use Fusiliers for Brawlers. I've got quite a few from my MO. As for Arslan, I think I'll use Emily Handelman. Since I don't have any Haqq, I'll be using the Red Veil Yuan Yuan for my Bashis. There's no way I can't get that Hunzakut though. She's too awesome.
Saito's mini is too goofy looking (I don't like that kick). I think a normal Oniwaban is a good enough substitute.
Interesting topic! :D I was also thinking what to use for my upcoming Druze Army :) I've collected a lot of different models through the years (Druzes, Scarface, ABH, Major Lunah, Colossus Morlock, Le Muet) and the new army is a great way to finally start using them all! Especially that I have Haqqislam, so their generic units are already present on my shelves :) So here are my thoughts on some of the units: Saito Togan - the original mini is interesting but a bit to weird and I'm also going to use Nakadai for him, converted to wear Saito's mask and having some braid. Valerya Gromoz - I'm planning to get Isobel McGregor for Valerya - they look kinda alike, they both are hackers, so a slight change in weaponry and some suitable painting would be enough :) The use of KHD Druze is also interesting, but she looks so tough that I rather use her as she should be used or as a normal Combi Druze (maybe even LT? ). Bounty Hunters - apart from converting the original ABH with BS a bit to fit his new name (will be revealed in some undefined future) I'm also going to use Colossus Morlock for my ABH nicknamed Marv :) The mini is to good to not use it - I'm going to give him some bigger gun on the back and use him as a Red Fury profile. Brawlers - I think of them rather as a mixture of different types of soldiers put together than a unique unit, so for MSV Sniper I'm definitely going to use the beautiful Major Lunah (I had few ideas to use her, but that's the best one!). As for HRL I'm thinking Govad ML, as he looks badass and professional. And about all the REMs - as a Haqq's player I have an allergy to everything that's from PanO (even the weapons), so I'm going to use Haqq's robots and don't think it would be a problem to anybody. I only have an idea to slightly convert Kameel to use him as a PeaceMaker and scratch-build AuxBot for him to fit the visuality of a rather "haqq-themed" Druze army ;) PozdRawiam / Greetings
Personally i'll use Geckos as either Anaconda (since both are almost at the same height) or Scarface (since i'm not a big fan of his model), and maybe Zoe as Cordelia. For Brawler i just use my old Muyibs as standout, because i hate faces. And i just use the Spitfire as handheld rapid-firing rockets. Im also think of throwing a Spetnaz or two since they're awesome, but i just wait for repack. And REMs, i just use my Nomad stuff because screw PanO and their walking dishwashers. Maybe i can use Mobility Su Jian as Bulleteers, because i want to screw some people a bit.
I think that the Manbun Ghulam from Red Veil looks a lot like Arslan in the comic, I might have to consider a headswap!
Very nice, even though... yellow kneepadds man, yellow kneepads! :D I was thinking of either sculpting the hair onto Jethro or make a headswap with Nakadai and just shorten the barrel of the nomad MSR. But since I´m super lazy, I´ll just hope they release him soon™
Fixed! There’s always something! I’ll probably be using Stephen Rao until Arslan comes out. Then I’ll guce Rao to a local PanO player and get Arslan. ;)
For me I'm using Jethro as the Druze multi sniper. Fusiliers as the Brawlers. Nakadai as Togan. Beba as my anaconda pilot. The beyond red veil csu as Arslan. I need a good valrya proxy and hopefully they come out with some more Druze models soon.
